  1. Happy birthday John.?
  2. You guys are crazy, I love it!
  3. I was lucky enough to have been surrounded by them when I grew up,also a lot of them were children who went through WW1,(my grandfather remembered seeing a zeppelin). It was a pleasure to have lived amongst so many wise, kind, considerate, brave, fun,and articulate people.
  4. Shame about Jamaica Blue Mountain, 20 years ago I would drink it all the time because of the quality flavour from the volcanic soil, and it's velvety texture. Sadly, like most other things in this ever increasingly quick turnover marketplace, overcultivation has rendered it just another name.
  5. I've had a genuine RASS with a toothy wrapper that was not very good.
  6. H Upmann Magnum 46. I have posted previously that I'm not a fan of the Perfecdraw as I believed it made the cigar tunnel. Well I take that back as it saved the day for me this time, must get a box of these!
  7. Sorry Lucass, I was thinking of the Perla. But I do have a PC that I'm gonna leave for 3 years or more.........
  8. One of my fave cigars Lucass, I would suggest to leave for another year, try one, if not up to scratch, then one more year should do very nicely.
  9. Captain, you are so spot on, but this Magnum 46 I'm smokin right now has flavours that is impossible to get anywhere else on this planet! And so pure and unique. Being a mongrel, I like more bite, but this fukcer has taken the bite out of me
  10. Yes I can make it! Will bring some Por Larranaga Gran Robustos from my Amsterdam trip this weekend.
  11. I've had it in a Petit Edmundo a few months back, and the wrapper went really shiny and silky as I smoked it down, into a lovely golden light chestnut brown colour, ending up like it was box pressed.
  12. Crunchy. But too dry for me these days, so I get the oiliest one I can get my grubby little hands on. Skippy smooth.
  13. I will be there next week checking out the cigar lounge in Van Lookeren and the new Por Larranaga RE Gran Robusto. Also Hartman Cigar store in Beethoven Straat that have Por Larranaga Picadores, I wouldn't bother with their Leidsestraat store unless you like cigars with pale wrappers. If you buy any tubos, make sure you get a receipt and check for mould before you leave the country, especially on Punch Punch, and Punch Royal Coronations! Have a nice trip.
  14. Would love to come for my first herf, but can't give an answer until next week.
  15. Cheapie any day. I'm not a fan of the perfect draw, I've found it makes the cigar tunnel, I would rather keep smoking and sometimes if your lucky the plug slowly goes away.
  16. The Petit tubos is in my humi now, but as you may see from these photos, the other 2 are brittle and disintegrating. Forgot to turn the Monte A around so you could see the wrapper beginning to unravel. A B C D
  17. Right guess, wrong answer. I think that what preserved the cigar was the type of tube that was used?
  18. I must have been very tired the other night, because I was set on putting them in at 60rh, I forgot about my 'Cuban use now' humi at 65rh which has room for them. So open them up I did, unfortunately only 1 was salvageable. It felt hard and dry, no aroma, but at least it had a bit of a sheen to it, and the band was loose but not loose enough to slip over the head. I have now put it in at 65rh. Bet you can't guess which one it is, I think it may be worthy of a poll? I will get a photo done tomorrow after the holiday, and post here straight away.
  19. Ken, it is a gift if she is trying to get in my pants! Anyway, I was about to open the Monte A last night just as I realised there is no room in my humidors because of my recent shopping trip to Amsterdam 3 weeks ago. And because most of them are new to the humidor, it is going to take longer for them to be ready to smoke. So will have to leave them for now, and will post on this this thread when ready. Sorry about the lack of pictures, I must get a camera.
  20. I'm inclined to agree, I'll drink to that with a shot of Doorly's XO Rum!
  21. Bloody hell, you're right there mate. I could've contaminated my full humidor!
  22. Cheers Shelby, Can beetle eggs survive for 16 years?
  23. I mentioned to a friend last week that I'd just returned from Amsterdam with a lot of cigars, and she told me that she went on a cigar factory tour in Havana while on holiday back in 2003. She left with a few tubos, got home, put them in the wardrobe and forgot about them. She has just gifted me an RyJ Churchill, Monte Petit Tubo, and a Monte A in a varnished slide box. They have never been opened, and the caps are screwed tight. I'm thinking of unscrewing them a few turns then put them in at 60 rh for a few months, then 65 for a few, then take the caps off for a few, then finally taking them out of the tubes for a few more months. With the Monte A, I will just have to take it out the box and straight into the 60 rh humidor. I am quite new to cigars, am I going about it the right way?
