  1. As per usual, thank you all for your wisdom on aging. Based on what everyone contributed, it seems that vacuum sealing is most beneficial within the first 6 months. As someone who hasn’t tried this yet, is there an age that makes vacuum sealing pointless? I.e., I have a box from 2019 that I was considering to give this a shot with, but would it be better to try with a (newer) box from 2023? My general vacuum sealing chart would be: Ideal Vacuum Sealing - box age < 6 Months Acceptable VS - 6-18 months Minimal bang for your buck - 18-36 months Why bother, just smoke - 36+ months Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. 1 per my health insurance attestation… But since we’re all friends, it’s more like 3-5 per week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. First Cuban (or so I was told) 1999 Next cigar was NC in 2007 First Confirmed Cuban 2009 [emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I used distilled water to season and for humidification. I struggled with Boveda packs for about 6 months, and didn’t want to spend $40/12 pack every 3 months to keep the humidity levels above 60. This summer I am going to try some other methods because I can’t help myself from always having to tinker with things... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I got this model last year and it’s worked out great. However, certain boxes are a struggle to get in this because how narrow each side is. For example, my Monte 1’s have to be placed perfectly between the bump outs that hold shelves. If I were to buy again, and didn’t have space limitation in the house, I’d probably buy stand alone Cigar Cooler and Wine Fridge units. That said, I have 330+ cigars currently in there and have noticed a big improvement with the taste of my cigars since going to this unit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. My Co-Worker and I went in 50/50 on the Game Of Thrones Scotch set he “won” the right to purchase at a local retailer. We’re seeing this being sold for $2k or more, so we figured we will flip them around the end of the new season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. This explains Ken’s improv ability on the video reviews, mystery solved! [emoji12] As the saying goes, “fool me once, shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. We bring him back to the breeders farm, but it’s a 90minute drive, plus a minimum 60 mins to see the new animals and chat. So it takes a good chunk of time before and after a trip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Boomer will manipulate you to get more food, but overall he’s really good. He’s technically a Mini Pig (despite being 100lbs!) but is completely house trained. We also trained him as a piglet to sit when he wants food from you and we only give him fruits and vegetables, so he doesn’t really get aggressive. As good of a pet as he is, he is no where near as ‘convenient’ as a dog. Pigs need a lot of affection and attention, they get territorial (so he doesn’t always enjoy house guests!), and making arrangements for him when we go on vacation is difficult. 11. Yep, indoors full time, 100lbs. He matches my laziness (In cold weather he’ll sleep/lay around for 20 hours a day) which is great during football season for me! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Here’s my guy Boomer. He always wants to smell my cigar just to confirm that it isn’t food! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. “For anyone who can afford the $1,000,000 price tag attached to the above trip and is interested in taking Gurhka up on its offer, you’ll have to contact the brand directly.” I think El Prez should offer up this sort of FOH “experience”, which includes having to manage our 24:24 emails and cleaning Ken’s porch! 16. Funny this came up, because I received my latest purchase today and had a similar experience. You see, the idiots who remodeled my house and the lazy-ass owner (me...) failed to install gutters, most notably above the front door. So naturally, every package that is delivered while I’m at work gets left on the stairs below the drip line of the roof. When I pulled up to the house after work, I could see the box getting dripped on from a Rain that I was PRAYING happened before the delivery was made! When I got up to the door, I could see that one end of the box was seriously wet. I quickly dashed into the house and opened the box to inspect the treasure and sure enough, Mother Nature or the postal service were no match for the superior packaging! 17. Looks great!! Just curious, because I’m in the market and trying to decide on the size of one: how many Cubic Sq. Ft. Is your cooler and how many boxes do you think you can fit in there? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. My go to rums are Papas Pilar 24 (roughly $40/bottle) and Eldorado 12 Year ($30/bottle). However, I’ve been struggling to find the right cigars to pair with both of them lately. I found a sweetness in the Eldorado a few days ago, most likely caused by the spicy vodka sauce I was cooking/eating, which will probably change my cigar pairing approach going forward. I think it’s time to leave work and begin my “search” [emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I found a bottle at one of the hotels on the Paseo de Marti (Hotel Sevilla I think?) in February 2017. I would have bought it if A) I could have paid with Plastic and [emoji41] thought I would feel anything but disappointment after the first few sips (which I’m sure would be amazing, but the reality of the price tag would have set it!) 20. The Bears are doing what they were built to do: LOSE. They've gotten by with practice squad players at WR, which has not done any favors for Mitch Trubisky. Now that they've won a few games, it's time to get back to losing and securing a top 5 pick in the draft. I think they have it in 'em! [emoji12][emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I had the same thought this morning, and wouldn't be surprised if it drives up the almighty 2017 production prices. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Great work! I'm lighting up to toast as we speak! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. First thing to remember, you sound worse in your head than in the crowd! Second, speed is the issue most people have because when you get nervous, you will naturally talk faster. Take some deep breaths and relax yourself. Personally, I would start with a joke about crowd sourcing advice from FOH on public speaking to engage the audience and show them that you're human before getting into something you are obviously passionate about. 24. I'm in Tampa, and I set up a fan either just below or just above the table level I have the ashtray on. Still, this depends on the overall weather, so I'm ready in a moments notice if there is a rain storm that pops up and cools off the porch. Not a perfect solution, so I'm planning on enclosing the porch with windows and run some AC in there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I go through a bottle of Pilar 24 about every 2 weeks. I've never tried it with any sort of mixers, too damn good on the rocks. I haven't done a side by side yet, but it has some similarities to HC7. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
