  1. Agreed, he's a busy guy and his work is widely popular for good reason. I think I ordered my last stand-alone cooled cabinet unit July of 2016 and took delivery in November, but most of the wait was the figured maple wood. I'm very patient for outstanding work!
  2. Over the years I've noticed something with the #2's none of my CC's demonstrate to this extent and that is humidity level to keep the wrapper moist enough without being brittle vs. most of my many other CC's. I keep two Aristocrat humidors in the house, one cooled controlled, and the other without, but both humidity controlled. Both humidors at 62-64% rel. humidity levels and I keep my aged Montes in the cooled unit and the other keeps the newer stock. In these cases, both Monte wrappers are always brittle and begs for more humidity it appears. This also a big factor when I smoke outside, I live in the S/W USA when the overall humidity is very dry. After just a few minutes, the Monte wrapper gets terrible at the halfway point with 10-15 minutes of smoking, Still the initial wrapper at 62-64% humidity is too brittle it appears to begin with. So I setup up a stand alone humidor and setup the humidity to run at 72% and the Monte's are now PERFECT and can smoke leisurely without flaking. Is there something specific in the Monte #2 blend that is unique vs. most other CC? Sorry if this has been talked about before, but it's been a long time question I've had. Thanks!
  3. No conspiracy type here, just my humble assertion but I cannot think of a better way to get as most Americans/Govy streamlined as Raul steps down next year and they have their election or appointments from the Cuban Representatives that represent their districts. IF this was the intention among other ways, it's a smart way to do it...
  4. I guess I have one more assumption and just MY opinion and I'm not a conspiracy theory type in that regard, far from it. We do know the Raul will be stepping down next year with the first elected type elections of their regime. What better way to get the American Govy presence in the region as few as possible. Plausible denial of for-hire activity is the smart way to do it. As stated, this is nothing official, just my thoughts and a few media outlets on the whole fiasco and NK is a great candidate for the collaboration IMHO.
  5. Cannot say enough good things about Bob and his company. TRUE CUSTOM craftsman which is so hard to find nowadays. I've had two customer humidors built, an in the book shelf type and my newest stand-alone units from 10 months ago or so.
  6. Boom, drops microphone. You could of just said that Ray and saved your fingers heartache. Great post as we see more and more Government interference in our personal lives all around the globe.
  7. My money is on North Korea, I do not think Cuba is officially involved with this. It was unprecedented they (the Cuban Government) actually let FBI agents into the country to give them total access to investigate. That raised my eye brows to say the least, like wow, never heard or seen that before...If Cuba was involved somehow, it was definitely a rogue operation of "for hire" types IMHO and not officially sanctioned.
  8. Yea, I just read this once as well. Getting a bit serious. Not sure the answer is leaving a large hole on our diplomatic presence in Cuba, especially with Raul stepping down soon. http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/29/politics/us-cuba-sonic-attacks-pulls-out-diplomats/index.html
  9. Where can I learn more about this?
  10. After a bout of pneumonia that sidelined me for a few weeks, back to get on with life with this I pulled out of resting. Superb wrapper with almonds and cream with my getting back to normal taste buds!
  11. So much agree here and why both of the T's and Extra's were ever discontinued. Two of my all time favorites. I am thinking though the Vigia's with some aging are gonna be special as well as they're pretty darn good young thus far.
  12. Thank you for sharing the article John! HUGE fan of Trini's myself. Robusto T's, Extra's and the Vigia I have been stocking up on. The Vigia is a great young cigar I might add and cannot wait what a few years will bring. I first purchased them last year on my first trip to the grand island. That La Trova Double Robusto looks VERY interesting!
  13. It's basically a concussion type injury. I've been following the developments pretty close. My thinking is on North Korea....
  14. Did they not note the HUNDREDS of radar plots on the internet and/or over the TV airwaves? Maybe they have no clue where the majority of the tobacco is grown?
  15. Got my dad out of Lecanto and they are in Pesacola presently as well. Im gonna be flying in Tuesday and traveling with my dad and a friend who rescued him on Wed am back to the area. Hard to imagine the devastation I will experience.
  16. And they're about to get slammed with Hurricane Jose...Just terrible with thousands of people out there with no protection, nor any way to escape, since 90% of the structures are presently rubble from Irma. .
  17. A grand celebration with some Behike 54's for a dear friend.
  18. I've always done the 65/65 ratios in both my fine Aristocrat custom humidors and enjoyed the results over the years.
  19. Fox News reports this evening that this actually happened late last year and effected 12-18 Americans (a few actually went deaf). Diplomats and one Canadian. 2 Cuban Diplomats were also expelled from America and some are accusing Russia due to sanctions that Obama imposed. Investigation still on-going.
  20. Usual smooth and cream, but ONE had the dreaded Trini under-fill. Not the worst UF, but it was there that took away from the flavor.
  21. Double for a working lunch.
