  1. The others have nailed it... Also, given you want to smoke them this summer, they will be young. The larger format and young (2018) cigars that have been outstanding for me have been the HU No. 2 and RyJ Churchills.
  2. +1 on Hotel Blau Colonial for a proper selection. There is a resort Melia Jardines Del Rey that is 5 mins from Pullman and has an LCDH basically attached to it. The LCDH is in the Plaza Los Flamencos. There is a path from the resort Bar/lobby area right to the plaza. This shop is decent and has the usual regular production but, requests for Cohiba, Trinidad and the likes are met with a laugh. Expect Montecristos, H.Upmans, Hoyos, etc... The Cayo Coco airport has three shops carrying cigars with varying selection. These are not kept in humidors but, the quality is decent given how quickly boxes moves out of there. Have a great trip!
  3. Thanks for the review and corresponding box code. I find myself starved to understand if some of 12DCRC reviews are of the cigars from the sampler or personal (and possibly aged) inventory. This would help me set a timeline on when to sample mine... ? I was also keen on your review since I too have a box purchased late last year but, with code MEG Feb 17. I decided to give one from that box a try in October of this year which put the cigar at about 1.5 years of age. I could discern some of the flavors most others describe but, hidden behind some very youthful bitterness. I agree with you that our boxes may need some additional rest to mitigate the youthful bitterness. This would also mean, i would put aside the ones from the sampler but, perhaps not for as long as my boxes. Cheers and happy smoking!
  4. Good horror is hard to find. Everything these days are “Jump Scares”. You know...eerie music, dark room, turn a corner and out pops a ghost or shadow. Nothing original anymore. To this day one of my favourite horrors is “The Others” because it had a unique take or twist. Nothing since...
  5. As a huge fan of the horror genre, I enjoyed and appreciated the effort put into this series. The storytelling and character development went hand in hand with perfect pacing and memorable moments. Despite jumping around in the timelines, you always knew where you were and who you were with. Agreed with one of the best moments being when the “Bent-neck lady” said “no” over and over again and understanding why. Such a powerfully sad moment. Another moment for me was the Red Room reveal and the explanation of the shadow feet seen through the gap of the door and floor. Fantastic the way they brought it all together.
  6. Hoping you managed to snag a box or two!?
  7. It may have been the November 26th 24:24 marked as clearance. They were supposed to be *mostly MEL May 17 but, I recived the same LGR Jun 17 and was slightly bummed not to get the MEL's. Most of my Upmanns are MELs and gorgeous. Glad to hear the LGR's are smoking great! Cant wait for some decent weather to try them. Thanks for the feedback!
  8. Gorgeous!! The resort looks good too... Have a safe trip home!
  9. Thanks TNT! Glad to hear and looking forward to it. For now, they have been shoved to furthest corner of the wineador. -20C in Toronto so will wait for a perfect day this summer for a sample.
  10. Just managed to grab some pics... One of my gifts from the wife who picked up from a local shop. Just...wow!
  11. My little princess on her first Christmas! I lost the meaning of Christmas a while ago but, this year we had the carols playing all day and night. The smells and sounds of the day reminded me of those moments when I was young and it all meant more than fighting the crowd at the malls, parking lots and highways. Merry Christmas to you and yours, fellow brothers and sisters!
  12. I am in Canada and my customs hangs onto things for a while deciding on excise taxes. Usually 2-3 weeks from shipped email to box in hand. 14 boxes so far and all have been in near similar condition as those in my humis. With essentially 2 layers of wrap (packing paper and bubble wrap) and the box itself, I would think it would take much longer to get to a worrisome state.
  13. Welcome aboard!

  20. Hi All, I have been lurking for over a year and a half, made multiple (informed, thanks to you) purchases from our gracious host and finally decided to introduce myself. I love this board, the folks here, all the information available and the way it can help sit for an hour in the mall parking lot while the wife shops. I am an avid mountain biker, car lover, scotch demolisher and cigar hoarder! My current rotation consists of PSD4, CoRos, Partagas Mille Fleurs, RyJ Mille Fleurs, Monte Edmundos, Siglo II / III / VI, Quintero Favoritos, JLP Petit Cetros and BRC. These are what i am allowing myself to smoke. My aging humidor will never be touched lol! Thanks for having me! Cheers!
