  1. The K&S 12 year is pretty good. Extremely well rounded but as a bourbon drinker, I miss the burn after the sweetness. Wish I knew of a similar profile rum at aroubd 94 proof.
  2. Red Sticker, P.S.P? Nice construction, amazing smell of horse stable- much cleaner to me than barnyard and yes, I have spent a lot of time on farms. Looking forward to these over the years. RAE JUN 15. Thanks Rob and Diana!
  3. 2008 Heitz Cabernet tonight with a burger done on the cast iron, buttered and grilled brioche and a iceberg salad with blue cheese dressing. America. Football. Meat. Napa Cab. F- yeah.
  4. I was wrong again! Congrats to The Broncs and Peyton. Their D is the real deal.
  5. So weird the Patriots aren't in it! Love them or hate them... http://www.foxbusiness.com/features/2016/01/25/super-bowl-50-ticket-prices-plummet-after-patriots-loss.html I still think Panthers by 14.
  6. I do as well. Weller 12/ Antique 107 50/50 mix. By far my favorite bourbon. After 30 days or so it's magic how much it has changed.
  7. BRC ULA OCT 14. Very nice. Near perfect burn. Very full flavor.
  8. I forgot to mention that having found this site I don't see myself buying anywhere else. Total transparency is most important to me and you get it here. You have to be more patient, but what you want will eventually surface, and some! I might add that I'm not one seeking LE cigars though, just quality bread and butter stuff.
  9. Keep them coming, enjoy the trip down memory lane with the background scenery. Good times, I'm sure. What's the white 5 gallon bucket all about? Pong table nearby?
  10. My cigar smoking had been fairly pedestrian since the late 90's until one of my neighbors handed me a divine PLPC last spring and told me the popular online spot to buy them. Since then I purchased a decent collection of bread and butter cigars, primarily from one source, though occasionally from two others. I would say 85 % of what I ordered would be considered PE or HQ by FOH standards, 5% PSP, 9 % economy and 1 % poor.
  11. First of the box, 2014. Only been resting a few weeks but pretty tasty.
  12. I've not seen those either but the two Hoyo 5x3 packs that I have, 2014 No. 2's and 2011 No. 1's are top notch PSP quality, though not from FOH.
  13. Chalk it up to a good day. Sipped a fair amount of the Lot B that he had open as well.
  14. What is that drink on the left?
  15. Looks like a perfect smoke! What % are you keeping them and how long ago did you get them? Mine was wonky, albeit outdoors.
  16. NYC, had smoked two Upmann Connie 1's Friday, a BPC Sat and this was Sunday, after lunch with a sweetened coffee. It was only the second I've had from this box. Minimal touch ups but I did smoke it to the nub. The next hour was horrible, maybe the worst od since my first cuban in 1997. No explanation.
  17. OPG DEC 14. PSP quality though not from here. I've smoked two. Full flavor and complete punch in the face. The second one was so strong it took me an hour to regain color. Clearly various factors cone into play but I'll be letting these mellow a bit before I revisit!
  18. If I was in Wisconsin I woukd be cross country skiing everyday and ice fishing. Growing up in NH and alpine skiing every day meant winters did not suck.
  19. I live in the midwest as well. Not enough snow to enjoy the outdoors and beauty but dreary enough for SDD. I truly love the holidays and playoff football but the stretch from Jan-Mid March is tough... but then it's time for our annual trip to the FL Keys which is, by far, my favorite part of winter.
  20. OPG DEC 14 RASS. So good. With a strong coffee and empty stomach I smoked it in a little over an hour to the nub. Silly me. Knocked me on my butt. Haven't had it happen in awhile. Fantastic smoke.
  21. ULA JUN 15 BPC with daiquiri on a warm winter day. Near perfect not to mention almost 1.5 hrs of perfect burn for a PC!
  22. 2011 Upmann Connie #1. I actually smoked two of these. The first one had been at 69% for months. I removed it to a 63% last weekend then it spent the morning on the counter at 30% or so. The first third was terrible. Almost chucked it. Dry, dirty smoke. The second third was average but not good. I grabbed another out of the 69% box and it was fantastic. None of the attributes of the prior. This has now happened to me twice, both results were the same (the first bad one was dry boxed a few days). If you have these I'd be interested in knowing your thoughts though I won't be smoking any others unless they come directly out of 69%.
  23. Let's remember Lot B is $79 retail. Good luck finding but not impossible.
  24. 2010 Clerico Barbera D'Alba "Trey Vigne" with some pizza, roasted cauliflower and pasta fagioli (soup). Steal at $15/bottle for a Thursday night quaffer.
  25. Blantons is quintessential at $60 or so. If Weller 12 Year or Weller Antique 107 is available do a 50/50 mix and wait a month. It's not easy to find. Eagle Rare 10 year is good as well but can be on the sweet side. Four Roses single barrel is popular, more floral and less sweet. Unless you stumble across a bottle of Pappy no reason to spend too much.
