dB69
It's time to start the new year with some new cigars. At first I have to play some tetris to fit them in my humidor. dB69
Got a scale today for weighing cigars. For now on I will weigh out every cigar I'm going to smoke to learn something about consistency and such things. The scale is a cheap one and not the most accurate, but if I see this experiment of investigating cigars a useful way to be able to pick the best possible cigar when I want one, then I will buy a better scale. Just tested some cigars and there are actually quite big differences between cigars in a same box. (I'm not a freak I'm just interested, right? )
dB69
Trevor and Rob posted about cigar weights and resulting density and such in a previous thread. It was interesting, but I cant find it right now. Here it is: http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=93095
CanuckSARTech
Interesting. A fair bit of time and effort to invest, but I'll definitely keep my eyes peeled for any updates or findings that you pass along. I think it would be interesting to see the correlation between fill-weight and performance.

cigaraholic
So weighing what you smoke isn't just a Northern California thing?
dB69
So weighing what you smoke isn't just a Northern California thing? Ha-ha! I think the grass is greener in California, but maybe "Northern" is the keyword for weighing...

cigaraholic
Always wondered what a B & M would think of me if I pulled out a scale before buying a cigar. It's quite an eye opener when you check a box, usually quite a swing in weights. Opened a box of Punch DC's and the first one I grabbed felt light so I checked it, it was. Checked the whole box and only 4 were at or above the published weight. Lowest was 15 grams and highest was 21 grams, how this box made it thru QC.......... The cigars have all been fantastic that I've smoked, smoking time probably varies but I've never checked.
