I just have to get it off my chest

If you have loved Trinidad then you remember and may possibly still have those stellar Reyes, Coloniales, Fundies, Robusto T from yesteryear.

I know I have found some excellent boxes of these for members who sent in requests but it was a bloody chore and a half....it has been in relation to Trinidad for 2 years now (at least).

I would estimate that 60-70% I would not spend my coin on. Without doubt the highest % of any Habanos Premium cigars.

• The worst quality control
• The worst mix match of wrappers in a single mastercase
• Underfilling or overfilling is rife
• Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap, good box, crap, crap good box.....is the way it goes.

For the love of God how bloody difficult is it! Sack the Quality management nongs/the factory manager and put the rollers on notice.

Trinidad could be great. It certainly shows no sign of a turnaround. Pathetic effort by all involved. Lift your bloody game. It has been years of sub par mediocrity!

My last box of 12 Fundadores have been plugged.... Every single one! Shite

I bought two boxes of Reyes with identical codes and they were nothing alike. The first box was outstanding ,and I was chuffed to see the vendor had more with the same code so I bought a 2nd box which was nothing like the first box... Such a disappointment

Current Fundies (for me) are 2011 as well. Not bad. Selected a few cracker boxes for members but I still had to pass up 60% of them. Not good enough for the $'s spent. One of those "never buy blind cigars".

Steve, did you try the Fundy old band from Le Lotus yet? They were quite nice if my memory was not wrong, they're from '02.

I bought them again next day at La Civette but Quality were not as good as Regis's shop.

I've rarely had a bad Fundie and it's been a special cigar for me coz of the circumstances in which I had my first one.

It was back in 2000 in Karachi and well past midnight, at the end of a very long day which had started with a 6am breakfast in Lahore, progressed to lunch in Islamabad and finished with a very late dinner in Karachi! Thankfully the Fundie was excellent!

Smoked an HQ Reyes (hand picked by El Prez) and thought it was great.

Got excited and bought a box blind (first ever box purchase online).

Lesson learned.

My last box of Reyes was the last for al ong time. I had so many great smokes with them, but they fell off badly. I've been smoking punch petit coronations and rascc for my minis lately, and haven't looked back. For the money, you're right - the Trinis haven't been carrying their weight.

That said, my brother convinced me to go in on a box of coloniales recently, and they've been pretty good - and they're pretty young. I think it'll mature into a nice box.

Otherwise, the only Trinis I'll be keeping are my stash of Robusto Ts. I heart those, and that last box is a fantastic one.

HQ Fundadores box I purchased on here LFTH last year from '11 is to die for-- I have been savoring them! Also I have a few '11 Reyes boxes where the aroma is incredible with most beautiful oily wrappers but then when it comes time to smoke they are hit or miss- many over filled

Have a couple from 2013 picked up blind by mules to Cuba. All excellent. Actually have never had a bad Reyes. Overpriced indeed, but always on imo.

I still have some '09 and '10 HQ Reyes and Robo T's that are just amazing! I have a few left of the '09 Fundi's and Coloniales that are awesome too. When they are gone I will cry.

I picked up some '13 Cloniales and Reyes in Cuba this April. Both boxes looked excellent. I had the LCDH attendant open the boxes first. I passed on 1 box of Reyes she opened up but took another 2. All box codes are LUM. Have you been seeing LUM codes in the warehouse, Rob?

Never had a bad Trinidad. They're all rolled at one factory, so easy to pull the trigger blind. Even 2010 and 2011 were good when other cigars were poor.

Not really fair to talk about variability between Robusto T and Fundadore. They were really one run originals, much like Behikes.

Some poor looking Coloniales and Reyes from recent production (2012-13) had been sighted only too often

Had excellent luck with some of the best looking Robusto Extras and Fundadores from 2009-11 - top of the line cigars, IMHO.

I have smoked two boxes of 12 reyes (very good), one box of 09 reyes ( excellent), and numerous good Trinidad Fundadores, Robusto Extras, and Robusto T. I think I will have my last Robusto T tonight.

The last boxes of Trini I have purchased was an 09 fundy box, and I have a 2010 Reyes box. Haven't grabbed a box since...always want to grab a coloniales box but never did get one.

I picked up a LUM 13 box of Reyes that look just like yours, really great wrappers and so far the construction and flavor has been top notch, no complaints here.... but that is - admittedly - the first box of Trini's I have ever grabbed.
