Nice cutting Smithy........Tosser

smithers, you are a disgrace. we gave you diamonds, you served back sludge.

and may i say, all you are doing by twisting our words re the ashes is showing how many weeks it taks you to edit these things. ashes been over a week, took five days and that was the week before.

just what do you do?

Now hold on a second, let's not be rash here. I think he did a fine job - there's only so much a producer can do if he hasn't got the right perfomers. Bit like Hilditch and the Aussie team.

I agree with the last speaker, I can only work with what I'm given and diamonds it was not!

I have a box with this same code and agree that they're great cigars. I have a TEB ABR 08 box that I tried one out of to compare with the March, and I thought it was even better. The richness and overall profile was the same, but the ABR box had a very intense green pepper flavor on the opening that my MAR box lacked.

Every box I have with a TEB factory code from the 1st half of 08 has been outstanding. These, RASS, Lusitanias, BRC, and maybe 1 or 2 others I can't think of off the top of my head.

I just had one out of my 2006 box and it was dreadful. Hopefully, I had the one bad apple, instead of the entire box sucking.

"hopefully" i'll get to date a whole series of supermodels but i think our chances might be on a par (actually, there is a tiny possibility you'll have some good cigars out of the box whereas...)

bugger - I have a box of POS Jul 06 and was really looking forward to them. They do look good - nice reddish hue as mentioned before. Maybe I'll be lucky...

oh and before this slips into memory - I presume you'll be doing the honourable thing and instead of:

7:38 - ''We're looking forward to doing next week's review, when we can say Australia's regained the Ashes, because we deserve it''

..saying something more along the lines of:

''Not only did the better team win, but arguably the better nation prevailed, continuing the trend of England dominating us home and abroad at every sport going. Ian Botham was better than Allan Border, English wine is better than Australian, and so is their beer''

or some such. I wait with baited breath...

as for bagging my plastic chairs, let me tell you that there are those that appreciate them.

just home from the coast and a new carpet python had taken up residence in your chair and he did not wish to give it up.

nor did he wished to be dropped over the balcony but crap happens.

he slid away with only his pride damaged.

not sure if the big python died (this one was a bit smaller and lean and hungry post winter) or if this is his squeeze, so to speak.

my understanding was they are rather territorial so stayed tuned, we may have snake fights!

Hey Prez, great review! :D

Where can I buy the rum from, know any stockists?

We purchase our rum from Wine Emporium in Fortitude vallley Brisbane. Ken may have the details of the distributor . If not, give Charles a call (07) 3252 1117 and no doubt he will shoot it down. Runs at $100 AUD a bottle.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well, I just smoked my first from a box of TEB MAR 08, and yes... they're everything you say. Rich, spicy and oh, so flavorful. There was even a strong note of gingerbread, something I've never tasted in any Partagas. Oh, and remarkably approachable for a young 'un. These have the stuff to age well, too.

The Magic 8-Ball says BUY.

I think the TEB boxes of just about everything have been awesome, Shrink. As you said - very approachable and consistent.

I just wish that all my SOA boxes of 898's were this good.

Wish you didn't say that Rob as I have a box of SOA 898s I've been contemplating dipping into. Should I be waiting?
