laficion Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 Hi everyone, There is no stoping two BOTL's from meeting together and enjoying a cigar, whereever they may be in the world and here is the perfect example. Some time ago, while on the shoutbox, I had the chance to get to know our friend, tsolomon, (Tom), on one of our daily slapstick comedy hour that anacostiakat (Jim) and I have almost every day. On one of our sessions, tsolomon said that he would be traveling to Europe to see friends in Germany and to Italy and that he would be spending some days in the south of France also. I asked him where and he said in Les Beaux de Provence. I quickly replyed that I lived only 45 mins away from les Beaux,so, we planed a RDV at his Hotel on the 21st of May and off we were. My wife , Monique and I got to the hotel at 9am and were welcomed by Tom, his lovely wife,Carrie and their charming daughter, Sarah. we then met their very good german friends, Uwe and his lovely wife, Alane. We spent a fantastic 15 hours together laughing, telling each others our stories while we went sightseeing around Les Beaux. we had great food, great wine and of course, great cigars. Here is Tom & me Monique & tom I brought along some RA RR Bolis for France and Tom had a selection of Illusione eccj and Tauaje's The Frank also some JL SEL NO. 1's and RG corona Extras. We visited a wine Domaine near Les Beaux called "mas Saint Berthe, and walked around the vineyards We then went to visit the "Cathédrale d'images", which is an old quarrie transformed into a light & music Expo show. This year it was a retrospective of the works and life of Piccaso.great show. Tom, me & Uwe We then headed out to the near town of St. Rémy de Provence for a great lunch and of course a great cigar. St. Rémy de Provence and a few smokes !!! We finished the day off at a great Restaurant at Les Beaux, again, great food , cigars, lots of wine. We asked the guy at the Restaurant to send us 2 liters of wine on the table to start things off and then we'll see as we go along, Yeah, what a meal, Uwe, our German friend, was very happy about the wines, kept saying, after every sip, Thiiisss issss gooodd winneeee, Hic, LOL Headed back to the hotel and left our friends with a feeling of sadness but at the same time, the joy of haveing spent a great day with great friends. My wife, Monique, said while driving back home, That we both had the feeling that we've all known each other for years. Ithink that It's the best way to sum up our day with tsolomon & family & friends, Thank you Tom, Hope to do it again brother. .
Warren Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 The photos are fantastic I really enjoyed them. You can talk about and review cigars all you want but the thing I love the most about them is how it can bring people together from all over the world. Fantastic.

Guest rob Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 It's true when they say a picture is a thousand words. Great pics and write up what seems like a perfect day!
JMH Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 What a beautiful area of france. I've been lucky enough to visit the st. remy area twice. The people who lived at the top of les beaux hundreds of years ago were a lot tougher than I am. Bitterly cold & windy during the winter, and an absolute furnace in the summer, I couldn't believe the contrast between the seasons.
El Presidente Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Well done gentlemen It never ceases to amaze me how the humble leaf can bring great people together and be the catalyst for life long friendships.
