sandholm Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 When the warm weather came in and rendered every ski slope dangerous, well, those who ski in the resorts might like it. Personal i like high altitude, steep faces, tons of powder and really fat telemark skies. first i want to apologize for the poor english, its not my first language... So instead I decided to smoke something. I found this gem in my long time cabinet, i dont know the box code, when it was a couples of them i moved them to the singles draw, and its more then 5 years, i would guess close to 10, but i have no idea, this is the last one of them. So lets kick of, it was an really sunny day so the pictures dont come out that good. Construction One word, perfection, no soft spots, no hard spots. Just perfect, only "fault" can be seen bellow Wrapper Milk chocolate colored, a bit of a sweet smell with a hint of white pepper and spiciness, this will be good Draw Just "shaved" the cap, draw is perfect, not to tight but still some resistance. The cigar is straight out from 72%, no dry boxing ( i never do, for me it makes the flavors much more sharper and removes some of the fine nuances) Cold taste Mild, but there is flavors, but they wont hit you in face. Green tee, no spice, milc chocolate, a bit of licorice, cream Initial Sweet, creamy, mild, tons of milk chocolate, draw is just spot on, perfect. After a couple of minutes its in the medium body segment. I just love it, smell and taste. Its not heavy in anyway, the taste is there but it wont punch you in the face. If you want something that have a couple of flavors, then this is not for you. First third It build up its body to a clear medium body cigar, tons of cream, smooth, no edges, perfect harmony. The draw could not be better, just excellent. There is tee, but no spice at all, which is strange with that clear white pepper and spiciness from the wrapper. In the end of the first third a bit of spice start building, but very very faint. So much flavors, burn is just perfect. Second third It just continues, but becomes more complex. A bit more body, perfect burn, mild but not to mild, tee, milk chocolate, cream, hint of spicy and white pepper but just in the background alongside with a hint of stone fruit. Love it. The draw and burn is just excellent, during the whole cigar I never ever touched it up, no problem at all. In the last part of the second third some almond and nut flavors showed up. Last third This is just perfect, same flavors as the first third, just more complexity and more flavors added. Burn and draw could not be better. Cream, milk chocolate, hint of spice, sweet, almonds and a hint of licorice turns up. No rough edges at all, just complete smooth. The smell is just divined. I smoke it as far as i can without burning my fingers, in the end I sadly put it in the ashtray and can only thank it for the 2 hours of pure pleasure it has given me. To sum up This cigar is the perfect chocolate mouse, made just from cream and Valrhona chocolate with a touch of well aged dark rom. You are sitting in a sunny open room, you hear the birds in the background (but not disturbing in any way), no noise, no cars. The stereo is playing a chopin piano concert, which has no beginning, no end, its complex but no rough edges, just beautiful and perfect. Time cease to exist, you are in a total relaxed moment, nirvana, heaven, paradise.
