habanablue Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 The Boss is playing at half-time show in SuperBowl as I type. Some 'glory days' song? not sure?

Ken Gargett Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 seriously, best part of the entire thing by a squillon miles. how could anyone see that and not be converted!
rckymtn22 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Not a big Springsteen fan, but he is 100 times better than alll the American "Karaoke" singers they have had on before.
asmith Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 What exactly happens with an 'eargasm'? Just thinking about the money shot???
KB24 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Love the Boss. Was hoping he played Born in the USA and Rising but was pretty fired up for Glory Days. Badlands would have been pretty nice too. Great performance. -Patrick
jadawin Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 ahh, thats who the washed up old guy pretending to play the guitar was...

Great performance.-Patrick patrick, much as i loved the game, it would have been much better if they'd given those doped up, overpaid, wanabee celebrities the 12 minutes in the middle and put bruce on for the rest. mind you, it did look like he'd been dodging the odd salad.

Warren Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 What exactly happens with an 'eargasm'? Just thinking about the money shot??? Sounds like some kind of gross explosion of ear wax.
DocRKS Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Bruce and the E Street Band certainly revived their 'A' game yesterday - they brought the goods to the half-time show.... No 'mailing it in' for yesterday's show. The number of Magical Moments this band has left may indeed be dwindling down to a precious few - but their performance at XLIII was a GREAT moment....
trumpetchris Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Band sounded good, Bruce sounded old. Oh well, I guess Glory Days was appropriate for him to sing. Still like the recordings!
Van55 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 seriously, best part of the entire thing by a squillon miles. how could anyone see that and not be converted! Simple enough for me. The guy has no voice. He sux.

Have no fear! I saw Bruce in Belfast at the tail-end of the Magic tour in December 2007 and he and the band were still going strong (they played a 3-hour set!). I think his Super Bowl performance (especially that knee slide!) showed him to be in pretty impressive shape for a bloke of nearly 60. I have tickets for Dublin in July and I can't wait! Shame he never seems to make it Down Under - the album's doing well in the charts down there so it can't be that they're worried that tickets wouldn't sell.

Hmmn, that'd explain it. The set list in Belfast was pretty standard - most of the Magic album plus classics like Born To Run, Backstreets, Dancing in the Dark, Kitty's Back etc and finishing with Santa Claus is Coming to Town and American Land. He did The River too, which was one of those goosebumpy moments, he got the crowd to quiten right down and played it solo, with just the harmonica to start off with. I'd love to hear Jungleland live though, or Rosalita (seems to play this quite often so I'm hoping I'll be in luck in Dublin).
