Just a quick update.

Cigarros (Dmitrii) recently offered to supply images of pre-revolution cigar bands to add to CCW. These have now been added as a new Gallery, and can be seen at:

http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/bands.htm

The site has also been rearranged to that additional galleries can be added in the future. Currently a Old Cigar Catalogue is in a draft form.

All these galleries can be accessed through the GALLERY link on the main menu of each page. http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com

Any thoughts or suggestions on future galleries would be appreciated. :cigar:

Trevor,

Didn't think you could do anything to improve such awesome site, you did though. Thanks for the commitment and your dedication to this great hobby.

Hi Trevor,

I can't get to your awesome website anymore... I've been trying on and off for a month or so now but still no joy... I always get refused connection :( So I can't get to see any of these fab enhancements you have been making to the site...

Do you have any sort of IP filtering or some such that could prevent me getting to your site from China? I'm guessing I'm the only person having problems connecting...?

Thanks!

Hi everybody! Many thanks to Trevor for the publication of a part of my collection.

Additional question. I don't know all years of release of these cigars. Anybody can help me? Any info. I will be very grateful!

Some anillos presented on CCW-gallery concern early 20 cenruty, other 1920-40s. In "Portraits" you can see last pre-Castro President - Fulhencio Batista (anillos with blue triangles).

Thanks!

Trevor, your website is an invaluable resource for me especially on the specifics of a particular cigar. Do continue your great work!

Dmitri, that's a fantastic contribution as the bands are rarely seen.

1 suggestion: Do you think that the website could have any updates posted on its home page? As this would facilitate ease of browsing, especially for long time users like myself.

I heard this morning that China also got an edited version of Obama speech yesterday.

But I do have trouble understanding how some vintage cigar bands can lead to the downfall

of a society....

Hope you can get in soon, its a very nice and informative site.

Great addition, Trevor! I saw a lot of beatiful bands in the Tobacco Museum in Havanna, and one of them caught my eye; the band with the swedish "flag". Took a picture of it. I see it's on your site too...never thought I'd see it outside of Havanna. :hole:

Trevor,

before I was into cigars, I was into Formula One (and still am), so years ago I added a bunch of cigar bands into my F1 'stuff' collection, most have drivers and cars from the 60's on them. Now that I enjoy cigars, I wonder what smokes they might have been on.

I will post a few of them this week.

Trevor, thanks as always - and thanks Dmitri as well :hole:

Stargazer - new cars and slick tires. I hope this helps with passing to make it more interesting for the casual fan

like myself.

Yes, F1 needs a bit of help these days, but is still exciting for me. and a great reason for a morning smoke!

here is a video of when the boys could REALLY race:

(i remember watching this race as a kid - VERY exciting stuff)

F1 cigar bands to follow.

i think the new pre-rev cigar bands are an excellent addition to the site!!

as far as my gallery is concerned....i am honored to contribute to such a great site. trevor has done an amazing job all around.

IMHO, CCW is the best site on the web for the information of cuban cigars.

my gallery is also a labor of love. the pictures are for all BOTL and lovers of habanos to enjoy.

i have recieved an amazing amount of positive feedback about the gallery and i appreciate all the support!

enjoy my friends.

Dear friends! I should join to the congratulations on the occasion of inauguration of President Obama!

The basic part of this collection has been collected on Cuba by my father. He served in Soviet Army on Cuba in military hospital (he is surgeon) in early of 60-s last century.......... my elder brother was born there....

All anillos are real. They're from the present cigars which were smoked in pre-rev time. It's true. On all there are glue traces.

Nothing at this end. My country counter on the home page (installed 12 Jan 2009) shows 1 visitor from China (and 11 from Hong Kong). Someone got through. I can see no reason why my website would be blocked. Are there any smoking restrictions in China?

This is a good idea. :hole:

I will work something out, probabily showing additions or major amendments done in the last month.....details and links.

Let me know what you think about this.

Keeping cigar history alive. Very cool. Well done.

This is one way the CCW will grow........contributions by people who are fanatical in various areas of Cuban cigars. :whip:

Jay's & Dmitrii's contribution have and will add to a broader depth of knowledge and information. The next "add-on" is the Old Cigar Catalogues section.

If anyone feels that they have an area of expertise that they would like to contribute to CCW, please contact me.

One thing, I will not be adding bloggs, reviews, forums, or the like. I intend to keep CCW to an information only site.
