Colt45 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 How come I'm always the last one to catch onto the cryptic inside messages? P-Form, I'm not the forum police either - far from it Seth, someone has "borrowed" your, Fatcigar's, and Jokermann's images and posted them on another site. It's not an issue with regular members - I believe there is too much respect here. At the very least, permission would be asked. Images have been harvested here, but to my knowledge, not by a registered, regularly contributing member. It's unusual for a registered member to do so.

I only frequent Cigar Pass so wouldn't even notice if it were somewhere else. Wonder why someone would do that instead of just linking back?
Havanaaddict Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I have the gram scale for.... get ready for it.... weighing cigars! You know a lot of my friends think I am crazy but when I pick a cigar out that is one thing I take in consideration the weight!!! Beside how the the foot looks and if is hard as a rock or spongy. 9 out of 10 times if a cigar is more heavy it will be tight

That wasn't a jab at you Colt...I agree with you...There is kind of a respect factor here with regard to the images...
El Presidente Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 That wasn't a jab at you Colt...I agree with you...There is kind of a respect factor here with regard to the images... I haver never denied anyone the right of use of images (taken by myself) for another forum. However it is a matter of simple decency to ask first. I would expect the same of images posted by other members. Simply send them a PM asking permission first. The "Public Domain" argument doesn't stick. Decency trumps Public Domain every time
Colt45 Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 That wasn't a jab at you Colt...I agree with you...There is kind of a respect factor here with regard to the images... I didn't take it as a jab at all - I'm saying "who am I" as well.
SethG Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I didn't take it as a jab at all - I'm saying "who am I" as well. I missed the part where we named the location where the pics were posted?
mkz Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I missed the part where we named the location where the pics were posted? PM sent...
SethG Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 PM sent... Ah, I see. Yes that is a little tacky, especially since I already hosted it on Photobucket. For the future, no harm no foul, but typically people just show one picture and then providing a link to the FOH thread, that's typically how people reference cool things found elsewhere on the Internet.

I just placed my order for one of these books, virtually shattering a new years resolution. $$$...Can't take it with you right?
Mel Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I don't care how big they are, how good they taste, how well they burn and smell or that they look sexy or pretty that price is ******* absurd. Go ahead and edit the bad language but I could find no other words that fit so well. I did hear the $2800 USD for twenty cigars making them $140 per stick. Kiss my poor ass and keep them. I would hate to tell someone that I paid that for tobacco products.

perfectform Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 That vendor is always above the "normal" price when it comes to limited editions, books, etc. I paid a little over half of that posted price...
Ginseng Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Good god. I just wonder how one smokes a tree trunk like that. Wilkey
SethG Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I paid a little over half of that posted price... It's always a case of "if you can get it" I figured anywhere between the 1,600-1,800 MSRP and 2,500 is just a matter of whether you want them to go out of their way to get you one or not. for those people complaining about price, there's a huge currency issue in there. This isn't US companies charging these prices, it's 1,300 Euros, if our currency hadn't slid as far as it did then that'd be 1,300 US dollars. A great price considering it's about 1,000 dollars for an Opus 22 which has only about half cigars I care about. If it weren't for the strenghtening of the dollar with the economic crisis, 1,300 euros would have been 2K minimum.
perfectform Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I paid a little over half of that posted price...In $$$ not Euros...and I managed to get the last one available to me...
armedak Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but I can just see the look on the wife's face when I announce, "hey honey look I only had to pay $1,300 U.S. dollars for this box of cigars due to the economic crisis and the strengthening of the US dollar.... and, I actually saved 1,200 US dollars over the going rate of 2,500 US dollars.... " Is it any wonder that Habanos S.A. keeps producing these jaw busting monstrosities, presumably at the expense of regular production, when they bring such premium prices and huge profit margins??

Those wives can be awfully inconvenient at times. Fortunately, I don't have to hide things from her because I don't have one. And no, it isn't a wonder...that they do that...
Colt45 Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Is it any wonder that Habanos S.A. keeps producing these jaw busting monstrosities Yes, but they can be used to play baseball with (cricket for our friends who are subjects of the crown), and they come in a neat book!
mbrody Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Nice pics Perfectform. I would be opening that book up every night and would take a slow, long whiff...mmmm.
Havanaaddict Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I have smoked 2 or 3 of these and to me they are way to young to be smoked now!!! WIll they be good in year maybe who knows
perfectform Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I wouldn't even consider smoking one for quite some time...
perfectform Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Hey Prez, this reminds me. I know you mentioned you smoked two of these and I believe you said they were fantastic. Do you have any notes on this guy and how does he stack up to the Cohiba GR's?
mash Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I have a chance to get a book, wondering if I can ask a question. I am assuming that these do not have an internal humidification device, and they have to be stored inside a humi right?
