You (and when I say "you", I mean "we") » need him to join the board. 14 year olds can't be allowed to get away scott free with that type of insolent double crossing behaviour. On Sunday I suddenly had the urge to put a porn filter on his laptop. He was thrilled. ;-)

crazypoet
» In the short term... maybe a little. In the long run it'll just be a story » you tell your sons girlfriends just to embarrass him: » » 'You sure you want the keys son? Dont forget what happened to you when you » were 8!' 'DAD!!! *whispers* Not in front of the sheilas' » » Boys should learn to be boys.. I have my scars from it and emerged a » better person for it. You can't be too much of a protectionist pansy or » one day your son will be walking around in a bicycle helmet on his way to » buy ballet tickets! » » BALLET!!!! Just think of that! Bingo - it takes a few bumps and bruises to be a boy. Just part of the process. A mother's job is to protect "her baby". Your job as father is to prepare him for life in the "real world". The real world sometimes involves sharp knocks to the head.
Van55
I haven't read all the posts on the thread, mate, but I think you are in deep trouble with the spousal unit as well as the son. The reasons why the spousal unit is urinated are obvious. The son? Chicks dig scars, but they won't see a scar on the boy's gum. Next time make sure the cut is on the OUTSIDE of his mouth. If he doesn't get one in his next bust-up, cut him a little yourself before taking him for treatment.

winelover
You are not the only dad who has taken his son go karting for the first time and ended up in an accident. I read somewhere that when Lewis Hamilton was taken go karting for the first time by his dad aged 8 he ended up in an accident and got a bloody nose. coreyj06
» Took my youngest Tom (8) to the Kart track this afternoon for his friend » Jakes Birthday party. » 8 boys...8 dads. Dual Karts (father /son) as all the boys are below 8. » Once you turn 8 you can drive on your own. Tom turned 8 last week and asks » me if he can drive by himself. I had some misgivings but reasoned that » driving with me wouldn't be any safer. Plus...boys should learn to be » boys. » » He had two flawless 15 minute rounds. Midway through the third (and final) » he is rammed into the wall and takes a serious hit. I saw his body whiplash » and his helmet hit the steering wheel. Stewards got to him quickly just » before I did. He was winded and face covered in blood. I took off his » helmet ....only lip cuts....teeth firm....no apparent » concussion...breathing fine. Took him to the medical room, iced him up, » kept him calm and started asking about headaches etc. All looked good. » » Arrived home. Wife (nurse) not amused. Bruising coming out. Tom » complaining of gum soreness. She inspects and finds a nice deep gash in » the top gum. Likely stitches required into the gum. » » Currently they are at the hospital. 9Pm Saturday night. » » So....in your assessment......how much trouble am I in Probably...hell no...not probably u r in a lot of trouble with the wife but the son will remember it and learn from it...I cannot wait until I can enjoy manly games and "rough stuff" with my 2 year old. Sons are resilient and wives need to learn how to be...

CanuckSARTech
Man, I know this is a damn old thread that I stumbled across, but FUNNY as hell!!!!!! (Wish the pictures were still viewable. ) Rob, oh the danger you create for yourself. My wife also is a nurse - she always enjoys reminding me, coyly, that she knows of one hundred ways to kill me in my sleep. The therapist says I should soon be able to sleep with my eyes closed soon, once the involuntary muscle reflexes go away.
