» You have the opportunity to invest in a non Cuban cigar operation

» (yes...why bother but bare with me  ) You have to execute a puro.

»

» You have quaaltiy tobacco, rollers, infrastructure, packaging, marketing.

» Ignore political risk for the time being.

»

» Let me put three questions forward.

»

» 1. Which tobbacco would you use

» (Dominican/Honduran/Nicaraguan/Equadorian/etc). Remember...it must be a

» puro.

»

» 2. Why

»

» 3. The three sizes you would produce.

Nicaraguan.

Because I like them better. :-P

A corona extra (or a petite corona), a robusto or toro, and a churchill or torp. I would not go for anything thinner to start.

but bare with me Not on your life!

»

» 1. Which tobbacco would you use -- Nicaraguan for sure

» 2. Why -- have you ever tried a Domincan or Honduran puro? Litto Gomez almost pulls it off, but Nicaraguan tobacco is consistently better for my taste. The only drawback here is that the current political situation in Nicaragua is.... Well there's talk of the government nationalizing the tobacco industry.

» 3. The three sizes you would produce.

If I were producing them for my own consumption I would mimic the Partagas Serie du Connoisseur 1, 2 and 3.

If I were producing to mass market, I would go with Robusto, Gran Corona and Churchill.

» Topped for the weekend crowd's responce!

I do enjoy Nic tobacco but am partial to Equadorian wrapper.

I am stunned at the almost unanimous vote for the Nics.

I would go with Dom. because my favorite NC is a Dom. (AVO) and I like the smooth taste.

I would go with a Churchill for the times when time isn't an issue

2nd would be a Robusto bc why not and third would be a Lonsdale bc I love the gauge of those.

Nicaraguan Tobacco

Because I like have liked what some have dome with Nic tobacco historically. A close second is Honduran.

Petit Corona, Corona Gorda and Robusto.

Anything larger will not have too much complexity and allow for a repetitiveness imo.

This is a tough question!

Of my two favorites non-Cuban smokes, one is Nicaraguan, the second Dominican. That being said, looking through my notes and my humi, there are far more Nicaraguan Puros than Dominicans...

So, on the basis of consistency over time, I'd have to go with Nicaraguan tobaccos for my smokes.

Sizes? For the US Market I'd go with Robustos, Toros and Torpedos initially.
