Dittos on the AVO #3. I always loved the Davidoff Double <> too. Throw in a Griffin's Prestige for good measure and you have my trifecta of favorite NC smokes. Fortunately, it's been at least ten years since I had my last one!! :-P

- davidoff especiales "7",

- the griffins robusto

- zino, mouton cadet (and the veritas)

I've also tried "el credito" because they were maduro (almost oscuro) colored and they looked so teasty, but I made a mistake by smoking it before dinner...

Absolutely agree on the Olive Serie V. I've enjoyed the Lancero tremendously.

Love the Davidoff Millenium Blend, particularly the Lonsdale.

Padron 64 and 26 Anniversary

I used to smoke a lot of non cubans before I switched to Cubans. I have probably smoked almost everything that has been out in the last seven years. I worked in two smoke shops in college and I work at one now. When Tatuaje's first came out, that was all I smoked. Now I find them too harsh. I will smoke a few here and there, I still have a soft spot for the J 21's (robustos) and the Cojono 2006 (goes great with a Sam Smith Chocolate Stout) I rarely smoke anything non cuban (much to the owners dismay) But here is my list:

Davidoff #2 (elegant, and even better with age, I have a box resting for hopefully the next 10 years, any Davidoff that has a yellow-ish band (from the oils in the cigar) is a lot better ) I did get a chance to smoke a few straight from the factory and they were great. All the flavor without the Davidoff papery taste.

601 Green Corona ( If I am going to smoke a non cuban, this is my go to at the moment)

La Flor Tubo 200 (elegant, this is probably the lightest cigar they make, I think this cigar gets passed over in favor of the stronger La Flor's. I tell people it is light enough for a morning cigar, but still has enough flavor for an after diner cigar.

Zino Classic (any size, I think they are just as good as a Davidoff, half the price, same quality control and fantastic)

Davidoff Millenium Lancero (I hate to jump on the new Lancero kick (in the world of non cubans), but they are fantastic. I smoked one at a country fair a few nights ago and it was great)

Padron 80th (I love the cigar, but it kills me to pay the crazy price. The 80th tastes like what the old Anniversarios and 1926's used to taste like (for half the price). The new Anni's and 1926's are pretty terrible. But if you are looking for a treat, this is a great cigar.

Thank You

Great topic...I have seen Non Cuban cigars come a long way....and these day's find them to be getting very good......

Lots of the Cigars listed above are great, and I have been able to even visit the site some cigars makers them self, and have a smoke.....with them. If you get a chance to visit Miami you might even get that chance your self..........

5. Arturo Fuente Opus X: O.K., but not for the money....$40

6. Camacho 10th Anniversary nice cigars earthy

7. Camacho Havana

8. Diamond Crown Maximus: Hated it, then like it...different kind of smoke

9. Tatuaje Series P

10. Rocky Patel Vintage: Nice very clean almost no taste....American love this style of cigars...

11. Rocky Patel The Edge: This is more like it cheap $3.50 cigar, but great for fishing trips..and to give out...nice solid smoke

12. Joya De Nicaragua another $3.50 cigar which is great...

Lots of my fav's in this post. I cann't wait to compare NC's to CC's as soon as Czar's order comes in, and stabalizes in the humi. Drat, the wait!

Interesting that no one mentioned Ashton Virgin Sun growns. Singularly amazing. In the category of Padron anni's

Maimi - I agree that the Serie R's are great.

Just placed an order this afternoon with Cuban Crafters in Miami, supposedly a superb, under the radar cigar house. Ordered a bunch of their sampler boxes. (amazing they were open when I called 3 pm Hawaii time, that's 9? pm EST)

Last but not least, Illusiones, just fire crackers full of flavor!

If your that pleased with what you are smoking now (and many of them have their place in my lineup) then you will be heading down this slippery slope at 200 mph Dem!

Yes I believe I'm a goner in that department.

The VSG's with Cabinet printed on the band (pre-2006 i'm told) are simply amazing. I've got a source that will put the box of pre-06 VSG's on hold for me until i have room in one of my humidors (coolidor here i come).

» don't have any NC favourites... just cuban favourites... sorry

In invariably smoke cubans almost 50 cubans to every non-cuban. I have had some great NC's though. I just don't buy them because the kind of premiums I like are too expensive compared to what you could buy from Cuba for the same money.
