smokum Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Not to toot the Czars horn but I have never gotten anything resembling these problems. It may be due to my location and shipping methog but every one is checked before sent. I think the best place to purchase is right here. No worries. Safe. Guaranteed. Previous bad experiences with online stores are no longer a problem for me. I buy with conficence. Not to say your vendor won't cheerfully fix your problem but I would rather not have the problem in the first place. It a pain in the ass to send stuff back.
shrink Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Hello, dolly! That sure looks like damage in transit to me. I'll bet that the feet weren't protected with a little bubble wrap, were they? And they were intact in the box, I'll bet. **** happens. They look smokeable, though. Be sure to let us know how the vendor handles this. That's the key.

I believe they are smokeable. It is just irritating to smoke cause the draw won't be that great in the beginning. I might just turn them into petit edmundo. This way, I will still enjoy the beginning. :-D

56Tweed Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Sometimes things happen even with good vendors. Its unfortunate, but I wouldn't make any big fuss over it.
Professor Twain Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I recently received a cab of RASS with 5 cigars with damaged feet. They agreed to send 5 replacement cigars. As long as they make up for the problem I am not upset, hell I will have 5 extra slightly damaged cigars. Never had anything delivered damaged from Czar though.
bassman Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 It's a shame a few of your smokes got damaged, but I've smoked plenty of cigars with cracked feet & they smoke just fine. No need to trim them. Just fire one up.:-)
jdbrown Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Bassman is right..I have had plenty with cracks that were outstanding! I usually set them aside from the rest to prevent further damage. They may be the best of the batch!
broozer Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 the little cracks that those cigars have at the feet is not going to affect how they smoke when you first light them. you said you had the cigars in a bag, so are you sure YOU didn't damage them? again, i wouldn't worry about it and i damn sure wouldn't ***** my vender out about those small cracks. bruce
El Presidente Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 It is likely Dolly that the cigars were damaged in transit to you. Timber boxes and cigars don't like a lot of movement. It is worse with BBF in SLB 25. Those pointed caps can take a beating. Let your vendor know what happened. Ask him to add a little bubble wrap next time. He should note to throw in a few extra cigars to make up for disappointment but all in all it looks as if he selected some very good looking cigars.
tjblue Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Does the vendor inspect the cigars before shipping? If not you might want to switch. Never had problems smoking cigars with minor cracked feet.

Years of packaging for Rob and receiving a thrashing every time a client complained about a broken cigar, I learnt pretty quickly that the best way to transport cigar in timber boxes is to remove them from the box. Again great leader I apologise for all broken cigars please don't kill me this week.
El Presidente Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 » Again great leader I apologise for all broken cigars please don't kill me » this week. Smithy you are the unconquered master of cigar packing. Who else does hospital corners when wrapping the boxes ;-)

Where have those days gone, hospital corners in the morning and red wine and cigars in the arvo!

dolly Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 I was moving my cigars from my bag to the cooler today. At the same time, I was also checking my cigars to see how they were. There is one box of Edmundo I purchased from an online retailer not too long ago. Of course, its not this site. I discovered the wrapper of 7 sticks were breaking up. I sent them a email right away. Really pi** me off. I don't understand why wouldn't they take a little time checking the cigars when they send it out. Nothing more to say. Just disappointed and wanted to share. Update you guys on the up coming.
