Ginseng Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Really! I took my family to Washington, D.C. this past weekend for a vacation and walking to the metro station one morning, we passed the Australian Embassy. So here is a photo of me about as close to being on Australian soil as I have ever been and standing next to a sculpture at the front of the embassy. I imagine it must depict a kangaroo and an emu, and the thing in the middle is a coat of arms?
diab0lik Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 you shoulda went in and smoked a cuban :-D

El Presidente Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 We only put animals on the coat of arms that we eat. One day Wilkey you will do the real thing and I can tell you that we will have a blast ;-)
shrink Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 I'm focused on the symbols between the two animals. One might interpret them as a 'worm and gear', perhaps symbolizing industry. Another might perceive a Cuban cigar, loosely wrapped, with a cutter above it, symbolizing sloth.
Jimmy2 Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Here's some info Wilkey on the coat of arms . http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...oat_of_Arms.png http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coat_of_arms_of_Australia
Ginseng Posted September 19, 2007 Author Posted September 19, 2007 » No Wilkey.....its actually an aussi rat and a budgie....both life size :-D In that case, I'm afraid to ask how large is the dingo. » We only put animals on the coat of arms that we eat. » One day Wilkey you will do the real thing and I can tell you that we will have a blast ;-) There must be some Cantonese in you then, Rob. My people are renowned for our omnivorous nature. ;-) I look forward to meeting you and the crew. We may be looking to swing through Hong Kong (my birthplace) and Oceania next Summer (Winter for you). » I'm focused on the symbols between the two animals. » One might interpret them as a 'worm and gear', perhaps symbolizing industry. » Another might perceive a Cuban cigar, loosely wrapped, with a cutter above it, symbolizing sloth. Bob, when you're on, you're on. Wilkey
