motownflip Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 I've been looking to get a cab of these for awhile. The prices seem to be all over the board. Price aside, I need to get a box of these asap.
HeavySmoke Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Thank you for the review! Can't wait to try one. ;-)
shrink Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Rousing review, Prez! Frankly, after the glowing adjectives, I was expecting over a 90 rating. Right, guys?
Ginseng Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Well done, Rob. BTW, I hope you peeled the band and smoked it a little further. Looks like another good 10 minutes at least in that last photo. Wilkey

olotti Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Nice review. Could this be a sign of things to come for the 07' cigars, good, strong tobacco with great ageing possibilities?
Mel Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 "Whoa Mother of God" That's the PLPC that I'm looking for and I do not always age them. I like that in the face shocker for the opening bell attitude of the PLPC. Some Beach I'm gettin me some.
Quint Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Nice review Rob. I love this vitola and its nice to hear that the '07 crop appears to be a good one.....

sluggo819 Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Hey Rob, it's hard to tell by the picture, but is this the lighter version or the darker version? My buddy has a cab of the OEB Feb 07's and they are the darkest habano's I've seen.
chrisguinther Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I got a cab. of these about a month ago, and I couldn't wait to try it. It smoked very well for being so young. I'm impatient, but I'm going to do my best to age these.

El Presidente Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 Por Larranaga Petit Corona OEB FEB 07 Who isn't a fan of the PLPC? They have been excellent and I looked forward to reviewing this 2007 offering. Good looking cigar well constructed. You can have lighter PLPC's and Darker PLPC's but this is by far the most common wrapper shade. shade. Aroma at cold is just Vuelta Abajo quality tobacco in spades. Cerrated the cap and the draw was spot on. Rich tobacco on the lips...nothing else. Fired the foot .....BIG, ROUND, EXTREME, Whoa mother of God!!!! All burn't wood, tobacco and nicotine. I pray that it settles down soon or I will need a jug of water to accompany this. Striking exotic aroma. Even the Cohiba moved closer. Settle down it did after the initial "fists of fury" 5 minute opening. Medium full bodied but the harsh edges have disappeared. Copius white pepper through the nose. On the palate it is all toasted tobacco and Cuban soil but with a real depth which signifies great ageing possibilities. Nearing the halfway point some other nuances begin to make their mark. Savoury flavours of roast beef, stewed mushrooms with an outside hint of smokey toffee. At all times there is a dense tobacco flavour core. Heart and soul in spades. People often talk about old time Havana flavours and although the sweeter elements of this cigar may ranker with purists don't let it put you off as it is seamlessly interlayed with a rustic Habano heart which puts you back to walking the plantations with cigars rolled just before you headed out. This is fresh tobacco, strong tobacco, quality tobacco of the highest order. Towards the end of this cigar it too decided that it had had enough of displaying its cerebral side of flavour interplays. It goes back to its dark roots of simple, strong tobacco. Excellent cigar. 90/100 5/6 Smokerings. Great potential 3-5 years +
JMH Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 » I think you should ease up on the amount of wine you're giving cohiba so early in the morning. Who knows what could happen when you ask him to fetch you a cigar in that condition.
