El Presidente Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 To our Italian Members.......what cigar or cigars does Marcello Lippi (Italian worldcup football coach) smoke? Having a discussion here on the deck :-)
habanablue Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 » To our Italian Members.......what cigar or cigars does Marcello Lippi » (Italian worldcup football coach) smoke? » » Having a discussion here on the deck :-) Life's tough Rob when you have in depth discussions with Cohiba! Smithy is gone...yes he will be back, but not for some time. Lisa is still there, and although Cohiba can't answer you...he is still a good and loyal friend!:-D ps an extremely over humidified one, seeing as he must get it so wet with all the 'diving' his team does! (just thought I'd throw that one in there from a till vengeful Aussie 'football' fan!)
Ken Gargett Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 » » ps an extremely over humidified one, seeing as he must get it so wet with » all the 'diving' his team does! (just thought I'd throw that one in there » from a till vengeful Aussie 'football' fan!) first, rob, could you really be more bored? second, as an aussie sports fan, we lost that game and we deserved to. it may have been a dive, but that with the benefit of slowmo. must say my first thought when it happened was penalty. only when one examines it does it become obvious (perhaps a need for replays for soccer penalties?). next, how many others do it? the game is rife with it. please don't tell me no aussie soccer player has ever taken a dive. and if one has, then one gets what ones sows. the administrators should review games and suspend the christ out of anyone doing it. that would stamp it out real quick. most importantly, their bloke should never have been sent off. that was appalling. so we both copped tough decisions. happens. but they played most of the game with ten men and we did not, at any stage, look like scoring. all this bitching about the italians - they had a heap more shots on goal and were unlucky not to score several times - but if we can't score against ten men, we deserved to get done. mind you, if it had been a dud decision in something important like rugby, i might feel different - thank you the imbecilic welshman clive norling, you blind idiot, for missing the blanco knock-on at the end of the semi in 1987 which put us out of the world cup (mind you, probably saved us a hiding in the final). it still stings.
habanablue Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Totally agree Ken, was just poking a bit of fun at Rob and bringing up a controversial point from Australia's sporting History as in context with my little joke about what types of cigar the coach smokes!:-D

Blue replies, has a bit of fun. Ken goes on non-topical rant. I can only assume KG must have been "working" at the time.

Freefallguy Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 » was not aimed specifically at you - just all those couch quarterbacks, Ken- the term is "Monday morning quarterbacks". Get with the program! Couch quarterback is what you call [insert myriad names here] of the Foreskins on a Sunday afternoon in any given SEP/OCT/NOV.
Ken Gargett Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 » » was not aimed specifically at you - just all those couch quarterbacks, » » Ken- the term is "Monday morning quarterbacks". we have some that spend all week on the couch. where is rob, now that i think of it?

CaptainQuintero Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Cool, thanks for the link. I didn't know about these cigars. What do they smoke like? Seriously good, like rich fig/date The Toscano Classico are about $3 each and smoke fantastic. Corona sort of size too. Well worth picking some up. No humidification needed either as they are fire-cured Kentucky tobacco
Smallclub Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Cool, thanks for the link. I didn't know about these cigars. What do they smoke like? They are very earthy, and very strong. They are made (by hand) with a type of burley tobacco named kentucky, grown in Italy. ("Dark fired kentucky" is one of the strongest pipe tobacco.) I like them but they're not for everyone, and their smell is extremely unpleasant for the surrounding.
DrunkenMonkey Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 DM, this might be interesting reading Link Thanks for that Colt, I don't know how I missed that thread back then. Classic Rob, and then the great description by Mr. Japan. Anyone know if these are sold in U.S. Cigar shops? I don't think I've ever seen them.
