Give me your Habanos s.a questions

Recommended Posts

I wrap up tomorrow so give me a list of questions you would like me to put forward in meetings with Habanos s.a, rollers, factory managers etc. I will do a printout tomorrow, take it with me and post the answers upon my return.

Cheers :ok:

I doubt they will know the answer but I want to know when the Bolivar Simones and the PL magnifico are going to be released ;-)

Awesome!:-D

My question:

Wood cigar molds have been used in the past and remain a tradtion for Cuban cigars. What do they think the possible use of new plastic cigar molds will mean for the industry? Will quality improve and what are the chances that new vitola shapes might be created using these plastic molds?

I'm sure we've all discussed this previously, but:

In the event of trade opening up with the U.S, what will Habanos' strategy be -

mainly in the realm of quality control, with the likely increase in production.

Who will be allowed to sell Habanos - a broad question, but LCdH only, retailers

meeting certain criteria, etc?

Do they ever give any consideration to bringing back discontinued cigars? Again.

we've discussed the reasons cigars are discontinued, but during evaluation, do they

ever consider bringing any back?

Off topic: Did you ever decide on a new "cylindrical dispenser unit"?

» Taino (Frederic) set me up with a great MZ4 Bauer reel and a few spare

» Our Havana crew is catching up with Frederic on Saturday night in Santiago

» (Chile) for dinner :-)

Sounds great - have fun! Any fishing during the stop in Chile?

Does Habanos have any plans (in the next year or so) to further rationalise/ reduce either Brands or vitolas within brands. Currently there are 8 brands with only 1, 2 or 3 vitolas.

What was reaction (and any decisions arrived at) following the recent survey of retailers.

What is their current thinking on the several brands that contain both handmade & machine made. Will these go to all handmade as appears to be the trend.

I better stop now.:-D

What is the status of your Connaisseur Sized Cigar Collection proposal currently, and what Marques are expected to be involved? Is there anything that the Industry Retailers can do to further promote the concept? Just dreaming here, but I would love to see a Ramón Allones sized Connaisseur No.1, 2 and 3 available!

Um....I guess what I want to really know is.......can they please make another Siglo XXI humidor and deliver it to me for free :-D? But seriously;

With the introduction of the Cohiba maduros, is there plans to expand the maduro offering into other lines such as Partagas, Bolivar, ect?

» Any news on the supposed release of the Bolivar Gold Medal?

My questions also, where are the BGM that were suppose to be available in 2006? I saw a price per box (10) in Cigar Magizine figured it was wishful thinking. :-D

Thanks for this chance Rob.

Recently some gents and I did a series of blind tastings of '06 product. We noted variance in flavor profile, maybe even the same vitola sold as different marcas. What QC measure are in place, or being put in place, to assure blend consistency? How often are the raw materials and the final product sampled to make sure the blend is as desired?

Thanks:-D

Rob,

I just noticed this thread and always had a question that I have NEVER been able to find a suitable answer to.

On a VERY rare occasion, I run across a cigar that tastes like soap. It's like NOTHING I have ever experienced in 16+ years of smoking and to date can say that it has only happened about 1/2 a dozen times or so.

I know for sure that it's not due to the smokes being "sick", it's something entirely different.

I would love to know their response!

Thanks bro and safe travels
