smokum
Did the Party SD 3's come from Mexico ? I bought a 1/2 box from a bud in San Diego in 2002...date stamps have no box around them and they are ECA on top with FEB.02 underneath. They were horrible then...I still have a few and they are horrible now. I usually light one and throw it out every 6 months just to make sure I remember not to ever buy cigars from Mexico or anyone else I can't trust. El Presidente
From a cursory look, everything (cigars) looks fine to me. By that I mean that they are the same or similar to the hundreds/thousands I have seen. The first CORO pic in your other thread really made me look twice. The wrapper, the bunching of the filler and the ash looked way way off.

Ginseng
» In lieu of my recent CoRo disappointment I decided to post other » pictures..... » » So what's the verdict ? Log, The pictures do not provide any compelling evidence suggesting the probability that they are counterfeit. However, if you do not implicity trust your source, the possibility exists, however small. It is impossible to confirm that they are authentic from just photos. Except the typo, of course. :-P First off I better mention that I have just started down the Yellow Brick Road and speak only from this limited perspective. I just don't want to misrepresent myself as more than I am. But from this limited POV: The Monte torp on the left(second from top) is one of the few I can barely see the band. It MAY be the old, 1970s era fleur-de-lis; but, it's hard to be sure from that photo. If you're curious you could post a better picture of that Monte torp band so we could take a peek. But what Wilkey said is oh-so-true. And even with a trusted source I'm sure it's impossible to tell 100% for sure. A friend who has 25 yrs experience said he even had a fake that tasted BETTER than the real one. :-D
Tampa1257
While it is hard to make any sort of claim one way or another from the photo, I do have one comment about the bottom Cohiba on the left side of the photo. It looks to me from the photo that it is either missing the triple cap or there just isn't one on the cigar. One thing that the Cohiba's should have is a triple cap. habanohal
I dont like the way that date code is stamped. I will not try new vendors anymore, for alot of fake boxes had that same kind of code on them.
Professor Twain
We just had a thread about El Principes from 2001 that had a similar box code stamp, EAR-NOV 01 inside of a box, and the consensus was that they looked fine. Not sure whether these Partagas ought to come from the same factory as San Cristobal.
avid toker
Like others said, hard to tell from just pics. But those are some dark Monte #2's......might want to get some close up snaps of the Monte #2's and correlating boxes if you still have them. And what's in the partagas box? If it came from the island, meaning not for export, it should have the serialized holgram on the lower right front of the lid. If the band is embossed, that's a problem. I believe the original release of these had the same EL bands as the very first (2000) EL release, not embossed. I will check when I get home. gersonmorelli
Are these boxes shown in the pics from the PSD3 EL 01? Now, I know sometimes they extend the production of EL until the first couple of months of the following year. Correct me if I am wrong but is this box dated Nov-02 on a 01 EL? The EL bands for 2000 and 2001 were not embossed. I think, but am not sure, that embossed bands came after the issues for these two years. Here is a picture of the PSD3 (01) and PSD1 (04) side by side with low angle illumination to highlight the embossing on the PSD1 "EL" band. You can see that the PSD3's "EL" band is flat printed.
