CIGARHead Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Nice detailed reviews Rob...oh and Smithy, that moustache, did you lose a bet or are you secretly hoping the *** Bath House across the street is hiring?
stever Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Loved the reviews and the photos. May have to also get the Punch after all. Damn! Oh well, there goes the budget for holiday gifts. Errr, ahhh, do you have a lay-away plan?:-D
Moglman Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Thank you Rob and Smithy for the hard work, sweat, toil and dedication to this passion. Great reviews as always. It sounds like I will be happy down the road but I'm also concerned. Concerned that the Punch needs to be purchased too, and my poor thin wallet will suffer.
Professor Twain Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 So this is how you make a living? Need any more staff?
56Tweed Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Nice review! Thanks for posting it and for the great pics. Mike
Ginseng Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Wow! Slap a "fro" wig on Smithy and you've got the "White Shaft!" Too cool 'stache. :-D Great reviews guys. Wilkey
avid toker Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Thanks to Rob and Smithy for taking the time to post the review with pics. This gives me a wonderful starting point as to what to expect in the coming weeks once I receive the smokes. Me thinks the larger ring guage in the Punch allowed for more ligero in the blend which probably lends itself to aging longer. Rob, which would you say was the stronger of the two?
n2advnture Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Excellent review Rob! Couldn't have been more entertaining. (Thanks to Smitty for the comic relief) Nicely done ~Mark
n2advnture Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 BTW - Who's that to the right of Smitty in the first pic? ~M
Tom Bolivar Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Great review, great pictures! Thank you guys. » ... a back palate of Camembert cheese mould... » ... sweet cheesiness ... I certainly hope I will not have to cut the Estupendos with a cheese knife!!!
shrink Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Cheers, mates! I couldn't imagine a more interesting or informative review. Certainly sounds like the Punch is the pick of the litter...
Spud2 Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Nice review and pics, can't wait for these to arrive! :-D
josie67 Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 » Nice review and pics, can't wait for these to arrive! :-D DItto. It was a sweet review, and I look forward to trying them both!!
wp2 Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Thanks Rob & Smithy for the reviews. Great stuff! Rob, if you need someone to photograph while you & Smithy are smoking, please send the plane ticket & directions to your house from the airport. LOL
HeavySmoke Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Thanks for the review guys and the pictures. Appreciate it and looking forward to try them soon.;-)
Cam Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 cool review Rob, very comprehensive, nice pics too, the storm looked bad, I think I remember family telling me about it!
kjellfrick Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Thank you for yet another interesting review, Rob. In fact, it made me so interested I decided to buy a box of Punch together with the already ordered Estupendos. And today they arrived! They look really good, and the Estupendos especially have a nice pungent smell in their box. Soon (Christmas maybe?) I'll light up the first of the singles. It'll be interesting to compare notes then. Thanks for the speedy delivery, Lisa and Rob.
habanablue Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I bet you all can't wait for Movember to be over so Smithy can shave that damn growth off!! how much are you guys sponsoring him? Give him a leather police uniform and you've got the cop from The Village People!
Mr. Japan Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 This is a kind of review that push me to buy. I will soon contact Liza. Thank you ;-)
Claudius Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 » Much like the Punch the previous day, the Ramon Allones Estupendo » lost it's direction and balance in the second third. It became nondescript » which is not unusual in a young cigar and yet again we were almost ready to give up on it » before it commenced to build body, strength and flavour in the final third. Both cigars start out with ammonia, then nothing, then fantastic. All that while you have a bottle of wine. To me, that means: - you taste ammonia in a young cigar, fair enough - the wine kicks in and you cant taste anything ;-) - you sober up a little and get some flavours :-D (just kidding ;-) )
Spud2 Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Recieved mine this week can't wait to try them after a little rest. :-)
