olotti Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I can't hold it anymore I have to try some of these 06's that everyone is talking about. I have a box of RASS and they are tremendous but that is all I have from the 06 production. I've been seeing alot of reviews on the 06's and they have gotten my interest so I'm thinking of putting a sampler together of 06's to just see how they are. So far I have on my list: Monte #2, JL#2, PSD4, RyJ Cazadores, Mag 46's, and RASS, I know I have some but another 5 couldn't hurt. Any other suggestions?

Don't miss the Bolivar Royal Coronas. I'd also try the Hoyo des Dieux, Partagas Serie P No. 2, the Romeo Short Churchills, and the Hoyo Double Coronas. Rob and Smithy were raving about the Cohiba Siglo II's.

BigSlick Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Dip 4's have been good. Agree on the Boli RC's as well.
Well Armed Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 all 2006 I have tried so far are good as gold. The Siglo I from 06 and PLPCs are crazy delicious.
genevapics Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 The only 06 that I purchased has been the Montecristo No.2. These are tasty, not mind blowing, but certainly enjoyable.
Professor Twain Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I have had the following from 2006 boxes, in my limited experience all are full flavored (maybe more than the 2005s I have had young) and have great potential but they still don't stack up to cigars that have significant age on them. I have had: Cohiba Sig II Bolivar Coronas Juniors Partagas Coronas Junior Partagas Lusitanias Partagas Shorts San Cristobal El Principe Of these the Partagas Shorts are great right away.
Colt45 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I've tried the Montecristo #4 from January '06. It shows the consistent M#4 flavors of cream and coffee. While smooth, it still most definately showed it's youth. The thing that stood out to me was that it showed quite a bit of underlying power. This makes me think that it will be something really nice down the line. If you enjoy the M#4, then I recommend the '06.
habanohal Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I would say Cohiba Siglo 2. Just opened up an 06 box to try since all are raveing bout them. All the hype is true. Get a few boxes of them

Ditto. Had a few of these and all good so far.

SmokinLightning Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 The Party Shorts and Boli RC's are very tasty!
shrink Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Any other suggestions? Yeah, add the '06 Hoyo Epi #1 to the must-try list. After smoking only two of four samples, I'm a believer. These are as good as they get, for newbies. In a year they'll be scrumptious. Sweet spices, woody core, with a tangy peppery finish. A truly delicious cigar.
Claudius Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Any other suggestions? Definitely BRCs and Monte2 but also ERDM Choix Supreme.

Didnt care for the Party Shorts myself, but I second the suggestions for Lusitanias and the El Principes. Also, the Cohiba VI are out of this world.
