Ginseng Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 » Easy pick. The Lusi! Roger that. The 1996 Partagas Lusitania for me. Wish I were there too. :-( Wilkey
n2advnture Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 » I am having a small gathering this afternoon here at Czar House. Sitting on » the deck with some bottles of red wine, some smoked salmon and some fine » cigars. Unless you are pairing the salmon with a red Burgundy from France or pinot noir from the United States, you must be slapped :-P Given the wine, which may over power the Co Mill & the SLR DC - I'd go for the Part. Lusi. ~Mark
Professor Twain Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 The Partagas, I have some 06s and would love to get a sense of what they could become. It might give me the strength to age them for 10 years.
xibbumbero Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 2 ea Piramides and one Lucy. The SLR DC's ain't ready yet. X:-P
El Presidente Posted September 8, 2006 Author Posted September 8, 2006 Don't worry Mark....the wine was a nice Spanish Temparanillo. The Salmon enjoyed with slightly toasted ciabatta, capers a drizzle of our finest extra extra virgin olive oil ;-) In the end I chose the SLR DC and later the Cohiba Pirimide. The 2001 SLRDC continues to me to be one of the finest cigars ever made. The Cohiba was also an excellent cigar but while having all the components of a great cigar (flavour, complexity etc) it just lacked the poise of the SLR DC. If anything it was a high end hooker compared to a stylish, elegant, intelligent, beautiful woman.

I'd probably agree with this statement (as bold as it is :-D ) The 01 SLR DCs are awesome! I should have snagged more cabs when I had the opp. (as always, hind sight...blah, blah, blah) ROFLMAO! ~M

The 1996 Partages Lusitania would have my name engraved on it! One of the very best Lusi's I have smoked over the last 5-6 years was a 1996, it left a lasting impression! Lip smacking good!
Guest Don Guido Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I'll go with the 1996 Partagas Lusitania I wish I could be there. "If you don't eat yer meat, you can't have any pudding. How can you have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat?"
