What does everyone think? Looking to pick up a box but thought I should see what you guys thought first. I like the flavor profile of RyJ so any thoughts would be great. Thanks!!

i wasn't overly excited when i first saw them in cuba earlier this year and have not seen one since then - they did look as though that with a little time they could settle nicely. from memory, rob liked them from the start (did i read something somewhere about the taste of a billy goat?)

The 2nd one out of my box of 25 was superb. What a differance than when I smoked the first one. Def. benefits from a little time stabalizing:ok:

Ken should have mentioned that he was plastered at the Capitol Building Cocktail Party the night he had the R&J Short Churchill. Some cold canape in one hand (....never get between Ken and a buffet....like being in between a Lioness and her cub) a Mojito in the other hand and the R&J SC somewhere in between. Ken was cranky because the food was running out, you had to que for drinks and the Cuban models acting as hostesses on the night slapped down each and every one of his advances ( They are desperate....just not that desperate).

....so all in all....the R&J Short Churchill copped the brunt of a bad review ;-)

After four samples, I'm very impressed with the potential inherent in this Robusto with the odd, but historic name. With the exception of the Cazadore, this is easily the strongest regular production Romeo I've yet enjoyed. There is plenty of "in-your-face" peppery spice, tongue-twisting tannins, and underlying Romeo flowery, fruity goodness. Definitely not yet ready for prime time, but I'll wager that somewhere between two and five years out, these early production boxes will bring a handsome premium if anyone can find 'em. I've never tasted a Romeo "Long" Churchill with this much going on beneath the band.

Consider this a "stealth" EL for those wise guys who refuse to buy EL's on principle. (This means YOU, Chuck. ;-) )
