El Presidente
You occasionally have a shocker and last night was one of those. 1999 Partagas Lusitania Looked great. drew great but absolutely no flavour whatsoever. One dimensional "nothingness" from beginning to the the last third when I threw it in disgust into the garden. 1999 saw the introduction for a brief period of a new wetting technique which was mean't to assist rollers. The technique led to a great number of plugged cigars in that year. While this cigar was not plugged, I swear that the Partagas Lusitania tasted as if the oils had been leached out. Just a personal theory. What is your Habanos shocker to date in 2006?
Ken Gargett
cuaba salamones. weedy wind tunnels with the flavour of cane toad crap. surprised re the lusi. my 97s, almost gone now sadly, have been absolute stunners.
dogbreath
Partagas Series P No. 2 from June 05 - although a great looking vitola, it was very bland. Nothing like the rest of the Partagas line. Hoping time will bring them around, but not too optimistic.
Colt45
» What is your Habanos shocker to date in 2006? I'd have to go with the PSD4. Like smoking air.
habanohal
PSD4 no substance and too light
harwellplant
i had a punch punch from 02, i believe, on the way to a titans game that had to have had no ligero in it. it LOOKED like there was ligero, but the cigar had the resistance of a straw. two enormous tunnels. yet another offering that continued to bias me against the punch marque. greenpimp
2001 Dip 2. Half of what I've smoked from this box has smoked wonderfully, half have been a nice combo of mute and blech.

PigFish
Interesting Rob! Same cigar for me... a Party Lusi. I like them about as much as I like Punch Monarcas! LGC MdO #1's would have to be a second. Not that they tasted bad like the Lusi, they just had no flavor to speak of.
Ginseng
SCdLH La Fuerza and La Punta 05, harsh and biting. Enough so to make me swear off these for a few years. Good thing I've got some 01's to smoke in the mean time. :-D Wilkey
cigardawg
I'd have to go with the Partagas Serie D No. 1? EL 2004 (not sure of the 1 or 2 or 3, but it was the EL from 2004:-P ). Great looking stick, smoked perfectly, little to no flavor and what was there was not very good.
xrundog
» What is your Habanos shocker to date in 2006? '99 Monte #2. Tasted and tunneled like a bad Nicaraguan. Maybe it was.
BigSlick
Last weekend, trout fishing in Northern Az. Gave the Boli CG yet another try. Sure as ****, hard draw for first third, than just plugged up solid. Got pissed and fed it to the fishies. I guess that's why they weren't bitin'! :-D
shrink
2001 Monte No. 2... very bland and mild, with some toasty notes. Burned and drew well, for what it's worth. A recent acquisition; I'll try some more humi time.
Well Armed
Tried my first Trini RE last week and thought to myself for the first time ever that I did not like the cigar even one bit. A flavorless empty toilet paper tube.
Loki
03 VR Unicos. Very flat almost flavorless. Others from the same box have been great.
Smokin Bulldog
Partagas Series P No. 2. If there is such a thing as a sick period this cigar had to be in it. Best described as bland with a hint of bitter amonia.:-(
El Presidente
The thing that stands out here is INCONSISTENCY. For every poor cigar mentioned there is another member who has had a great example of the same cigar. INCONSISTENCY is the battle that Habanos s.a needs to fight. I know 2005 was the year they really made huge strides but there is still a long way to go.
Guest cohiba
For me was a H Upmann #2 we all agreed it was sick, so hoping for the best !
Professor Twain
A little Jose Piedra, a gift from a generous friend, but I couldn't get any flavor from it.
PorscheC4S
All 3 of a cardboard 3 pack of Edmundos. With the first one I jumped the gun, but the other 2 had sat for a good month. I remember an earlier thread that discussed opinions about cardboard packs being less good in many cases. I'd like to try one from a normal box that's had some time to settle. Taino
I hate to say this but mine was a 2000 Co Robusto. Not a bad cigar, but just off off off, rather smoked a JLP.
tattoodad13
Mine was a Monti 5, Bland with no flavor at all.
