El Presidente Posted June 24 Posted June 24 You have set aside a couple of hours for a cigar, a tipple (alcoholic or non), you have the music/sports/YT on.... or you have a great book that is just getting interesting. You select your cigar, light it up.....and blow and behold it is a dud. If not plugged then the draw is seriously uncomfortable or the flavour acrid. You work on it for 10 minutes but no real improvement and you know in your heart of hearts that it is beyond salvation. We have all been there You now don't have time to experiment. You need a guaranteed winner. What is the cigar you are pulling from your humidor.
Popular Post JDoughty Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 Magnum 44. Reliably delicious, fits my usual smoking time frame, and easy to replace when I've smoked through a bundle. I never regret lighting one. 5
Popular Post loose_axle Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 Usually a Dip 2 or BBF when that happens. 8
Popular Post JPark3 Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 With my current stock it'd likely be the Ninfa or Padron. 5
Popular Post Duder Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 An old RyJ Cazadores or ‘07 Bolivar Gold Medal. 7
Popular Post ElLoboLoco Posted June 25 Popular Post Posted June 25 I would have to say a Padron 1964 Principle in Natural, pretty consistent. I don’t think I have ever had a bad one. 11
Popular Post LizardGizmo Posted June 25 Popular Post Posted June 25 Padrón Exclusivo Maduro or Robusto Trinity. 9

REesq Posted June 25 Posted June 25 My old standby, BBF, but what do you do when the dud is a BBF? I bought a box of ‘01 (mistake no.1) BBFs from a reputable LCDH store, sight unseen (mistake no.2). I was hoping to get some of the old Corojo / Criollo stock. When they arrived, they looked pretty pale, but I lit one up, I mean how bad could they be (mistake no.3)? If you ever wondered what it would be like to smoke ground up plywood, I can tell you. Worst cigar I’ve ever had; I swear I could taste the glue. 🤮 So I went with a P2 and sulked for a while. I still need to do something with that box. I want to give them to someone but I there’s no one I dislike that much.🤣 3 1
Popular Post JohnS Posted June 25 Popular Post Posted June 25 Usually something from the Arturo Fuente Hemingway Series. They're very reliable. 9
Capn_Jackson Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Two years ago I would've said BBF, JL2, or Connie 1. Now, I want those to stay with me a little longer, so I'd go Spada Gorda, Warped Futuro, or Padron 1964 Hermoso in Natural. 3
treberty Posted June 26 Posted June 26 I have never had an average RyJ Cazadores of 10+ years. Or HU Connie 1 or Mag 46. They will all more than make up for any disappointment. 3
Popular Post Kaptain Karl Posted June 26 Popular Post Posted June 26 BPC. Always delivers after a disappointing stick. 6
