This series to explore whether a particular cigar is humidor worthy. Cost these days is an issue for many so let's see if we can highlight some absolute standouts. This should particularly assist those new to the cigar world.

To be fair, most of the cigars we have featured to date have scored exceptionally well. Surprisingly well!

Scoring is: 1-3 (Poor)   4-6 (Average to good)   7-10  (very good to excellent)  Use the Poll.

The Montecristo Media Corona 44 × 90 mm (3½″) reminds me of one of those miniature liquor bottles that hold one nip.
I adore the Montecristo Media Corona blend......but it is never enough and I am always left wanting more. I find it a far superior cigar to the Upmann Half Corona or Partagas Short and on par with a great Principe. My tastes of course only.
The mid bodied coffee-cocoa-cream experience is exceptional. If you could shrink a Montecristo Petit Edmundo and tweak up the body of the blend .....then you would have Montecristo Media Corona. :cigar:

I love the Monte profile and all of the MCs I've had have been consistent. I echo the sentiment of always wanting more, but I also always leave satisfied since I know when is best to smoke this size. The toasty chocolate and cream is always present. I've found that the flavor doesn't try to hide itself, but also doesn't try to burst through the wall

I think these are often overshadowed by the Upmann Half coronas. Both great cigars, but the HUHC is just bringing more value proposition.

The Montes offer something a little different though and are great in their own right. If I could ever manage to rest a box 5+ years, I expect they might sing something special and show their value.

Such an underrated little stick. I agree with your sentiment Pres - of the smaller format Cubans only the El Principe rivals it. I’m always surprised when I see they aren’t sold out on 24:24.

I think I could confidently manage a solid 2 years of rest. 😂

I thoroughly enjoy them as the Monte profile is on full display. In comparison to say the HUHC I would see the appeal of the price point favouring towards the HUHC. This seems to be the case when observing 24:24 listings. Personally I'd take the Monte over the Upmann if I was offered them side by side.

A great thing to say about a cigar. A box never lasted.

I do love them and at times they can be handy. Within the last year or two I rarely smoke them I find them just to small unfortunately. Monte over Upmann for me with these little suckers.

Y'all are some very well off people if you can still splurge on a Media Corona, feels like they were dealt one of the heaviest blows in the pricing strategy. I was sad to see the last of mine disappear as I'm too tight to splurge $350+ on a box of gnats dongs.
