JohnS Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Sorry folks, I wasn't too sure what to entitle this unique and particular topic. Again, not cigar-related per se, but the conflict between a husband a wife has relevance for a great deal of us. Attacking your home with a Kubota excavator...ok, perhaps not. I mean, I...like you, were brought up on some classic fables in our youth and I distinctly remember the Big Bad Wolf using his lungs to huff and puff and blow Little Piggy houses down. Perhaps the Big Bad Wolf should have had an excavator on hand when he came for the Little Piggy in the brick house? You know...like this guy? In summary, tell us what this guy was thinking (or not thinking, or should have been thinking)? The ‘wild’ reason this man destroyed his own home A domestic dispute has taken a wild turn after a man used an excavator to rip his own house apart, with his wife and children still inside. Naomi Kaplan - May 30, 2026 A marital dispute in the US has taken an extreme turn, resulting in the destruction of a large chunk of their house. According to local reports, 48-year-old Eric Pierwsza used an excavator to rip apart the rear of his family home in Butler County, Pennsylvania, after a big night of drinking prompted an argument with his wife. The damage to the house was so severe that investigators believe it has compromised the entire building’s structural integrity. According to CBS News, the incident unfolded when Mr Pierwsza’s wife reportedly told him their marriage was over, to which Mr Pierwsza responded by saying: “If it’s over, I’ll tear the house down.” A domestic clash in the US has taken an extreme turn after a man destroyed his own home with an excavator. Picture: CBS News He then followed through. Local authorities allege Mr Pierwsza climbed into the heavy machinery and began tearing into the house while his wife and two daughters were still inside. The sound of the excavator tearing through the walls could reportedly be heard during his wife’s frantic 911 call. After the destruction stopped, investigators say Mr Pierwsza went back inside, grabbed a gym bag, and went into town, before eventually located and taken into custody by police. Mr Pierwsza was arrested over the incident and is now facing several charges, including causing a catastrophe, reckless endangerment, and disorderly conduct. Court records also show his wife planned to seek a protection-from-abuse order following the terrifying incident. Neighbours who spoke with local news outlet KDKA-TV said they are still struggling to understand how the situation escalated so quickly. One neighbour joked in an interview with CBS News that he’d: “like to know what she said to him because I’ll make sure I don’t say it.” “Forty-two years I’ve been married, but I’ve never threatened to tear the house down.” Many online questioned how someone can be held criminally responsible for ‘damaging their own home’. Picture: CBS News Users flocked to a post on X to weigh in on the wild incident, with many questioning how someone can be arrested for “damaging their own home”. “How does he get arrested for tearing down his own house?” one person questioned. Another poked fun: “Well, no one ever accused him of not following through on his word.” Many others made light of the domestic clash. “I don’t think insurance will cover that one,” a third noted, while another said, “Wondering who’ll get the house in the divorce?” “How did the fight get to this point of tearing down your house just to prove a point?” someone else pointed out. Mr Pierwsza is due in court for his preliminary hearing on June 9. Capn_Jackson Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Okay, I’m going to go for the real question… just where did he acquire the excavator? Did they have one lying around on the property? The article mentions a heavy night of drinking. Putting two and two together, I can only assume that in his drunkenness the night before, he stole the excavator and rode it home. Reminds me of the movie Mystery, Alaska. Hank Azaria’s character gets pulled over for drunk driving… a Zamboni 🤣 Maybe that’s what the argument was about?? It’s truly the only answer that makes any kind of sense. 3

El Hoze Posted May 31 Posted May 31 My buddies and I always joke if we drink even a sip of hard alcohol the odds of us fighting with our wife that night go up exponentially. This guy should have stuck to Miller Lite. This has been tested many times over. 1 2

There are similarities aren't there? 1
