Same with the Serie Du Connoiseur. “Last night was incredible, had the pleasure to be shared a phenomenal smoke. You know it is a good one when the entire table falls silent on the very first draw. The beautiful moment everyone shares in symphony to appreciate this cigar as it burns out its life after being aged for some 27 years. H Upmann 'Monarch' 1998 VITOLA: Julieta No.2 RING GAUGE: 47 LENGTH: 178 mm BODY: Light Every perfect draw was silky smooth, a light bodied cigar that started out with generous smoke given its age. The cold draw was the Cuban characteristic of barnyard and hay and a lingering tobacco towards the end. As it is lit, notes of cedar, almond, cocoa with similarities to vintage tea was found. As the fire spread towards it's body, the flavours opened up and I found maple and slight saltiness, and finally was pleasantly surprised to feel spice building up towards the last third with a clean toasted tobacco finish. Amazing! ” - I wrote this back in the day when I tried a 98' Monarch. I did end up getting '04 and '05 boxes down the road but they could never quite replicate that moment. 10 4

What was it's age when you smoked it, is it really that good far above and beyond or is it just unique in profile? I have been very lucky to have smoked quite a few Dunhill Atados, I love, love, love that skinny cigar! The last time I smoked one I would guess was around 2006 the cigar was from the late 80's. The flavors were so unique my mind was blown how a cigar could taste this good, bitter-sweet chocolate with fruitiness! Over the years I have smoked Cabinetta, Estupendos Tube, Malecon, Mojito, Varadero, Tubos - all were a mind blowing experience! I really wish I was able to try them when they were fresh to see what they were like! 3 2

Smoked a Compay on Saturday. I thought I had Cristales, but I guess not. Oddly, one cigar was missing. I cannot recall smoking it, but now that I have, I can see why I forgot about it. The core of the cigar had a bitter acrid profile while the rest tasted like poor quality aged tobacco. Could only make it about 5 minutes before my verdict was sealed. They are bad. 1 5
Duder Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Partagas Princess - anyone smoke these? Never saw a box available. They must have been very limited production.

Vegas Robaina Clasicos 2000 Vegas Robaina Clasicos EMS Cervantes 42x165 Released 97 discontinued 2012 Cracked another box today for the last month of Autumn. Following close behind my last post, these were available easily in the 2000s but now are nowhere to be seen as collectors hoard them. Similar to the Familiars but with no distinct silky smooth texture, it has a more mineral, cookie dough, coffee aroma. The wrappers are pristine despite being aged for 25 years. - This way my tasting notes for the Clasicos, I smoked it a few weeks after opening a box of Familiars and I concluded that the Familiars were better as it had a thick creamy smoke and a delicate sweetness to it. It might just be this box, but I feel that it wasn't at it's peak. 8 2

Zonum Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Has anyone had this Cohiba before? I bought it a few weeks back at La Casa del Habano. I’m planning to age it a bit.

Khimerah Posted May 28 Posted May 28 I’ve really wanted to try Bolivar Gold Medal and Belgravia UK regional from 2015. I haven’t had much experience with Bolivar but really enjoyed the Royal Corona. 3

The ones I have smoked have been very good, they reminded me of some of the D4s I have smoked form the late 80's & early 90's. A lot of the spice has mellowed out and all the flavors have married together, the creaminess and palate coating has intensified! And that was years ago I can only imagine how they are smoking now! I only have one left, someday I will fire it up! 4
Capn_Jackson Posted June 1 Posted June 1 I’ve sadly never had the pleasure of smoking a Bolivar New Gold Medal. Of the sticks I’ve never had, this one haunts me. 4
Chitmo Posted June 5 Posted June 5 I’m gonna go with one realistic option I’ve never had and one obscure option I’m curious to see if anyone has smoked. 1. Montecristo Petit No. 2, I don’t have a small pony so I never bothered 🤣 2. Partagas Visible Inmenso. 2
Nohiba Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I’m also going to go with a normal cigar option: SLR Regios. I had a La Cuna RE that blew me away with its fruity profile that I hope is common with the Marca. Can anyone confirm if the two share that in common?

Today's review will be 98' Saint Luis Rey Lonsdales (50 Cab) It has been many years since I have had one these cigars, I remember the last time I smoked one it was really good. But I was not prepared for how much this cigar has changed, the depth, body, flavor almost overwhelming! Just the look of these cigars sitting in a beautiful large wooden 50 cabinet is the first thing the hits you and lets you know that you are going to be in for a treat. I reach in and pull one out, it is light in my hand and the wrapper has a silky feel to it. I bring it to my nose and the smell is intoxicating pure honey. I clip it and the draw is perfect and the pre-light taste is of sweet honey and fruit. I start the toasting process and then take the first puff, I know this not the same cigar I had smoked many years ago. The 1st third is like wild berries becoming richer with each puff! The 2nd third I am getting Chocolate Orange and sweet dark chocolate building in intensity. The last third the flavors and getting so much richer bring in molasses, the smoke has almost become chewy and heavy. It is almost overwhelming, overpowering, intense but in a good way. This has become a very special cigar, smoking this cigar is an indulgent flavor journey where time stands still! It has been a true pleasure to have seen these cigar age into what can only be described as euphoric! Heavenly Last night's cigars 23' Saint Luis Rey Regios Red Apple, Toast, Cake 02' Saint Luis Rey Churchills (50 Cab) Apple pie, Cocoa, Shortbread Cookies Blah Ok Good Tasty Heavenly I had a 50 cab of SLR PC's that are just outstanding, rich and sweet! The more age with SLR the just get deeper, richer & sweeter! 3 4
