Japanese baseball is on an entirely different level of entertainment. Personalized batting chants for each player and multi-verse team victory songs are standard, from what I understand. American baseball struggles with being a kid's game played by professional adults, officiated by senile blind idiots, pressured by the strongest union in the US. (Yes, I like baseball.) https://www.nba.com/mavs/mavs-maniaacs I'm using this link as it's NBA.com, otherwise you wouldn't believe it. 2 2
ElLoboLoco Posted May 14 Posted May 14 I would say if nothing else, tradition. Baseball is an old sport, an old sport with limited space on old fields with cramped seats for years. They can’t be on the field due to safety. Now stadiums have improved but tradition may be paving the way here.

(Yes, I like baseball.) This is the best description of baseball I have ever come across. But, I can't stand baseball. 1

Makes me wonder whether it deepens the social gender divide to cater so pervasively to a single demographic, making it very clear that whatever is being shown is not for anyone outside that group. Sends a pretty strong message to kids, too. Even if the attire is relatively PG, which is not always the case, it's obvious who is being catered to and who is expected to be doing the catering. It's too easy not to think about this stuff if you're in the group whose preferences are being catered to and you've never considered it from the other side. Don't care if it's an unpopular opinion, I dislike the concept.
