The Queen soundtrack alone makes this a must see at full volume. Second only to their transcendent soundtrack for Highlander. Flash Gordon is campy wonderful fun. Reminds of the 80’s Dune.

Lucas, brother, you did it again🙏🙏🙏

From now on, if anyone wants my take on anything for some reason, just check Lucas', I don't want to be redundant 😉

Love the movie Flash Gordon! It's campy, kitsch, outlandish sets and costumes, with a banging soundtrack. The movie was constantly rewritten during filming, with scenes added and discarded on a whim, it was a miracle it ever got finished.

An 80s cult classic like Krull, Big Trouble in Little China, The Adventures of Buckeroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension, Elvira Mistress of the Dark, The Ice Pirates, Time Bandits, etc.

Funny that you mention Dune. Frank Herbert supposedly did uncredited script revisions on Flash Gordon.

Why am I not surprised? And what a great list of 80s classics.

Flash Gordon was exactly what it was supposed to be. Campy and fun with impossible circumstances for Flash to escape from, just like the original serial. It's not a "must watch" but it's not a "must avoid" either. The hot princess doesn't hurt 😁

The only thing that could have made this movie better is if Ed Wood directed it.

Loved it!!!

Saw it in theaters as a kid. Enjoyed the music. The movie was fine to young me. If you watch Ted or Ted 2, it's required viewing.
