Does not sound ideal.

Word of advice, delete this thread. If said person searched their name on the internet, they may find this post.

Edit - can see their name isn't actually posted here, I read it in one of the articles.

How many ex military live nearby?  Everything evaluated individually and in context.

I’m the token ex-military on the street. 😂

Wow. That is an unfortunate situation. I'm surprised at a few things about this case/individual. First: how the hell is his bail so dang cheap! Second: In America that individual would not be considered a bail candidate, that's a career criminal's rap sheet if I ever saw one.

Having three kids around would be my biggest gripe/concern. I would for sure make a report/call if you were to 'smell' anything when you're outside the house. At least in America that would be a quick, one-way ticket back to jail while he awaits trial. Otherwise, I'd look into getting some sort of protection; again, I'm unfamiliar with gun laws in the great white north but I would consider looking into purchasing one if possible. In the meantime, keep that 3 iron handy. (Oh and if you figure out the trick to striking it well be sure to let me know! :P)

Without getting to deep into the politics, our last government thought making criminals lives easier and being nice to them would make them nicer people. FYI, it didn’t work.

With 3 kids it’s such a different situation. I’d just mind my business and hope that a trial date is near.

Not to make light but have you notified your HOA? 😝

If I understood the story correctly, there is a court order issued that requires that he stays with his surety. She (the surety) is probably the renter of the home. I doubt the association could do anything about it, especially since a court order commanded that he stay there. Also, if this neighborhood is anything like mine, everyone already knows what's happening and the HOA is made up of those neighbors.

Oh yes - word has spread like wildfire.

No HOA, that’s not really a thing here thankfully. I’ve heard the horror stories of the power some of those folks wield. I think living next to a murderer is probably easier! 😂

Pretend to be blind & dumb while you watch that mf'er like a hawk.

The grandma across the street from me runs an after school tutoring business. She's a retired teacher. Isn't that sweet? Her daughter and her 4 kids all lived with grandma for about a decade. Awww what a nice lady. Just one big happy family! How many parents would trust their kids in that house if they knew the grandson (who fled the premises) is wanted for child porn by the military police? He still visits her all the time. His younger sister was arrested and incarcerated at 14 (drugs and sex). Their Dad was/is in prison. Grandma's husband hung himself in the garage when her daughter was in high school. On the other side of the street from me was a single mom hairstylist with three kids. Her eldest son stole a car from a drug store parking lot with two kids in the backseat! Long story short: police chase, he dumped the kids at a park, more police chase, rolled and flipped the car off the side of the freeway, arrested, jail, good riddance. Mom moved out. That little s**t used to knock on my door at 10pm at night after fighting with Mom. I never answered. Hell no. He was crazy af. I'm former law enforcement and highly trained. I'm not getting involved. F that. Be a really good witness.

get some cameras installed with a field of view of where he's staying

My vote is for the cameras all around your home and most important, one towards his driveway so you can show when he comes and goes.

I have several, and trail cams in the woods behind my house as well.

I used to volunteer for an outfit that did convict rehabilitation seminars in the U.S. prison system. That experience is a whole, long, colorful story, but one of the things that has stayed with me to this day is the near universal aversion the convicts had for homes with dogs. This is certainly an unscientific sampling on my part, and I'm sure there's the exception to this rule, but they weren't scared of lights, cameras or anything that a law abiding person would be discouraged by, it was just dogs. Every story about 'casing' or picking a target had the same prerequisites: no dogs, and preferably no one at home (second place). Armed or not was never a consideration.

I know someone who has every security mean available and practically carries a gun on him while at home.  Cameras, sensors...you name it.  Everything but a dog. I was like cut to the chase and get an intimidating looking dog. German Shepard, Rotti, etc...He's more worried about fur on the hardwood than living at ease.

Two dogs here, if anything moves around my house they’re all over it. The local Deer population just ignore them now that they’ve learned the dogs won’t leave the yard. 😂
