Romeo Short Churchill Reserva – Gift Box

February 14, 2026 - Press Release

The Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill is the next cigar to receive the Reserva treatment. Habanos S.A. announced the Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill Reserva Cosecha 2019 as the 2024 Cigar of the Year for the company’s Gran Reserva/Reserva series. Like other Gran Reserva and Reserva releases, it is a special, aged version of a regular production cigar. This cigar has a vitola of Ø50 and 124 mm. Tobacco from the 2019 harvest and from the Vuelta Abajo region in Pinar del Río was used for this edition.

The tobacco is aged for three years and the cigars themselves are aged much longer than most Habanos. Each year, Habanos S.A. selects a single cigar from the regular production of one of its major brands, which is designated as a Gran Reserva or Reserva. In addition to their longer maturation period, these cigars bear a second or third band identifying them as Gran Reserva or Reserva.

The gift box will be available in Switzerland at La Casa del Habano on 17 February 2026 and at Habanos Specialists on 24 February 2026.

Romeo Short Churchill Reserva – Gift Box with 3 cigars will retail at 534.- Swiss Francs, representing 178.- Swiss Francs per cigar.

Since will be visiting there later this year, I was exited reading about this until the expected last sentence of the cost. But then isn’t that only a little more than a great piece of waygu? Trying to justify it, but my wife will have to buy it so as not to get into trouble.

That's 694$ US for three cigars. WTF? I have a box of R&J Churchills from '18 and there was a bonus pack of three Short Churchills Tubos thrown in with the order. Now they are being sold for something like 231$ each. And by many accounts not the greatest cigar to ever come out of Cuba. I find this release kind of depressing.
