TheFez Posted yesterday at 02:31 AM Posted yesterday at 02:31 AM What's the consensus here guys, do we store these with the Cubans or the Non-Cubans? Many thanks!
Fuzz AI Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Stored at the same humidity as my Cubans, but in a separate air tight tub. 3
7kingsguy Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Separate drawer but same humidor.Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk 2
cnov Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I store at 65 in a tupperdore but I'm probably going to throw them in with Cubans at some point at 62. 1

JPark3 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I've had my humidity at 69% (nice) but I'll sometimes to a short dry box for maybe an hour or so. 1
cnov Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I wonder if non Cubans liking (or our perception of) higher humidity is directly linked to them being less tightly packed. I've not got the most NC experience but most definitely appear to be less tightly packed with tobacco, barely a plugged cigar among them but certainly a few wind tunnels. Does higher humidity and a higher water content within the cigar give greater resistance and a more pleasurable smoke in a lightly packaged cigar? I've found the Fab5 cigars are rolled much like their Cuban counterparts, in respect of them being tightly rolled. Feels like maybe 62 might be where mine go next. 3

There is some merit to this, to be sure, and drier Cuban storage mitigates draw issues in my relatively limited experience. For me, things like Padron smoke better at 66 because it does something to the oils that make them smoke silkier and creamier than they otherwise would. But I like my Fab5 and Bond Roberts at 60-62 because it brings out their nuance and honey sweetness, which is similar to what I get in Cubans at that RH. 4

Agree, I like my Padrons with a tad more humidity than Cubans and a short dry box if I need to 3

My personal CC generally 62% ish. Fab 5 anywhere from 65% to high sixties works fine. Personal choice. We do pack the bunch tighter than most NC companies. I can't tell much (if any) difference between 62% and 65% RH on Fab 5 performance. Consensus from devotees is mid 60s works best. However that could simply be because there are far more people who humidify at 65%-69% than 62% to 64% 6
TheFez Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago Appreciate the feedback guys. I generally keep Dominicans and Hondurans (65ish) a little lower than I keep the Nicaraguans (67ish), but still a bit higher than the Cubans (62ish). Bad experiences with Padrons that felt too dry and Fuentes that I felt were too wet lol. Will keep em 65 and see how it goes!
Lucas Buck Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Have only smoked a bunch of the Ninfas & one each of the PC & Robusto so far but they smoke fine for me at 60% which is what I keep my on deck humidors at. I do like mine dry though and not everyone does. 3

Fab5 I feel could be just fine at 65%, but I just keep them the same as all of my other NCs
BG318 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I store mine in with the CC's. 69% boveda in the winter and 65% in the summer. I have a tabletop wooden Savoy Executive which is for on deck cigars which is at 63-64. My Nudies always burn really well with this set up. I may try to bring my cooler down to 64-65 after reading this thread, although I tend to load the on deck humidor weeks before I smoke them. 2
