Popular Post MoeFOH Posted November 17, 2025 Popular Post Posted November 17, 2025 Not houses, but the place you consider your second home in the world. 🤔 Whether it’s for the people, geographic beauty, leisure destination, activities it offers, food, family & friends, spiritual connection, something else...or all those things! Challenge: pick one place only, but it can be a country, city, town, whatnot. Post your answer, discuss further if you wish. I might be labelled as mentally ill, but for me it’s Ireland. It’s primarily a people and spiritual connection thing... as, let’s face it, the weather ruins just about everything else. Accept the challenge…post yours up! 5 4
Popular Post Lucas Buck Posted November 17, 2025 Popular Post Posted November 17, 2025 Kailua-Kona, Hawaii - my favorite place in the world. Lived there when I was 19 and just fell in love with the place. Married & honeymooned there. Every time I visit when it comes time to leave feels like I’m leaving a part of me there. It’s hard to explain. 8
Popular Post MagicalBikeRide Posted November 17, 2025 Popular Post Posted November 17, 2025 Like a lot of Irish people, I lived abroad and travelled from the age of 16 through to about 27. My longest stay was in California and for about four years - small town south of LA called Newport Beach - so guessing that might be my second home. That said - I wouldn’t swap anywhere for what we have here. And I appreciate it much more since moving back. The weather is shite - but it’s balanced out by the stout. I’ll show you the good spots when you visit Steve. 10

Popular Post Chibearsv Posted November 18, 2025 Popular Post Posted November 18, 2025 Boulder Colorado. I haven’t been there in years but it’s weird how that place hooked into me. Maybe not so weird since they actually call it Niwot’s curse. 7
Popular Post madandana Posted November 18, 2025 Popular Post Posted November 18, 2025 I guess I’d have to say Corpus Christi TX. We’ve been spending winter there for 8-9 years. 5

Popular Post El Hoze Posted November 18, 2025 Popular Post Posted November 18, 2025 Steamboat Springs, CO. I am an avid snowboarder/skier and have always loved Steamboat. We finally bought a place there about four years ago. Great quality/quantity of snow, lots of tree skiing, laid back friendly vibe, great food/beer, and awesome weather and good trout fishing in the summer. Opening day for the winter season is Saturday, I’ll be standing in line with the rest of the yahoos. Can’t wait. 6

BrightonCorgi Posted November 18, 2025 Posted November 18, 2025 Falmouth Cape Cod. The only town on Cape Cod to fight (and win) a battle in the American Revolution. Grew up there and go back every 2-3 weeks to help my mom and enjoy a beautiful town. Epic biking and driving along the coast & windy old country American roads. 4

Run into a moose or elk back there and your heart is pounding. Every few years a moose will run into Steamboat’s base area. There are a few videos online. The situation looks a lot funnier than it is! Luckily I do not believe anyone has ever been hurt at the resort.
Popular Post TheFez Posted November 18, 2025 Popular Post Posted November 18, 2025 I've been going to music festivals for about 20 years. As I've gotten older, had kids and more responsibilities, etc. I don't have the same time opportunities that I once had. So I pick one big festival a year and for the last 8 years it has been Lost Lands at Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio. I go for about a week every year. First 2 years I went with my (now) wife, and since then it has been a boys only trip. All year I look forward to the one week where I can really just completely unplug and get back to the truest version of myself. Its truly a spiritual experience for me. Always meet amazing people, spend time with my brothers and friends that go with me, sleep in (til like 8-9 lol), and of course smoke 4-5 cigars a day with no time limitations. All the noise is just gone for that one week a year (ironic, isn't it😅). Year after year, we arrive in the middle of the night and upon pulling into the grounds this overwhelming feeling of "I'm home" just washes over me. I think that's in the spirit of the question😊 5
LaoFan Posted November 19, 2025 Posted November 19, 2025 It's odd that a white Canadian would call China his first home...but it's become that over the last decade. Second home is Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Got a spot there in '17 and have loved it ever since. Pura Vida lifestyle is a great way to live. 4
