Raching RR Series Humidor Launching Soon

Raching, a Chinese company best known for its large electronic humidors, is set to begin selling a new desktop humidor, however, it’s not a normal wooden box.

The Raching RR Series Humidor uses a combination of imported calfskin, cedar and aluminum to create what the company says is a “space capsule” design. It measures 16.4 inches x 11 x 7.17 and is rated to hold between 180 and 260 cigars. The humidor features a unique design, where the interior compartment slides out on small aluminium rails. Magnets are used to lock the interior in place, which the company says also helps to seal in the moisture. There’s a built-in humidifier, though Raching has not detailed what kind of humidifier it is.

Each humidor has an MSRP of $879, Raching expects to start sales soon.

As of now, there are five different colors. Each has the same laser-engraved patterns on the outside.

Raching already uses the RR name for its highest-end electronic cabinet humidor models, which start at $8,000 and include a long list of features, including temperature and humidity control, wi-fi connectivity and even a draw machine.

Definitely a step above the MON5800.  Build quality is solid and the aesthetics reminds me of  a retro Italian speedboat. The user interface is simple and you can adjust the settings or disable the ammonia  removal function. Just setting it up now.

I got an exhaust fan and an air purifier, so my wife now lets me smoke in my home office. Game changer. But also now burning through sticks at a much more expensive rate. 🙃

Funny, I’ve always said it’s something of a blessing I can’t smoke indoors, and that was before prices went out of control. Fortunately I have a backup setup in my garage with heater, AC, and a desk I can work at on my laptop. Outside extremely cold conditions (under ~25F) it’s easy enough to cooldown/heat up. Also I can drop ash everywhere without freaking out.

To be honest, once you get used to smoking in a temp-controlled area without a breeze, it’s almost impossible to go back. Especially with our NE climate, you get at most two dozen days a year that are comfortable with calm wind, and there’s no guarantee they’ll occur at convenient times to smoke!

Any updated feedback on the RRs that have been delivered, set up and now used for a little while?
