yuppie Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 I started by only smoking on the weekends, now I'm up to around 1 per day and I thought that was pushing it! 1
JDoughty Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 Given there are only 24 hours in a day, and you have to sleep sometime, some of these folks must be smoking some pretty small cigars. Or else they're huffing ridiculously fast. A Double Corona should be a 1.5 to 2 hour smoke. How the heck is anyone herfing down 20 of them a day? 1

Popular Post Li Bai Posted September 29, 2025 Popular Post Posted September 29, 2025 I used to smoke 3 cigars a day, now I'm down to 2 cigars a week. I knew a guy from another forum who had severe insomnia, at some point he smoked 4 DCs a night. But the biggest smoker I know is a friend of mine, he smokes 5 cigars a day since his retirement. He's been in the game for decades and hasn't purchased a single cigar in years but still he has enough to keep smoking at this rate for another 30 years 🤯 5

Although I am older. Heh. Used to smoke about 3 a day. Now, one about three days a week. Have not purchased anything for myself since 2023. Although I might pick up something on a lark. 3
Gemini_Man Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 As a testament to the quality of Cuban tobacco vs other regions, I can smoke Cubans all day long (4+ per day) with no issue. But when I've tried that with Dominican or Nicaraguan cigars my palate gets fried. Since smoking Cubans all day is cost prohibitive, I'll start with a Cuban (or two), move to Fabrica 5, then Dominican, then finish with a Nicaraguan. I personally don't know any smokers at 4-5+ per day who smoke purely NC cigars. 3

cigaraholic Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 I’m a 3-5 a day smoker, unfortunately these days there’s a lot more PC’s and minutos in my lineup then there used to be.I only smoke a NC on the golf course, can’t afford to smoke a couple of DC’s a round anymore.😰 4

When I initially read it, I assumed if true, the majority of them had to be cigarillos or other very short formats. I have a hard time believing Churchill had 8-10 Churchills a day, even. 1
Popular Post LaoFan Posted September 29, 2025 Popular Post Posted September 29, 2025 Normal life, 1. maybe 2. 3-4 happens on big days/nights out and about. While in Cuba 10...at least. 7

That one I can almost believe, at least during the war. It’s easier when you can literally smoke anywhere you want. Ironically it’s little known today but Churchill’s government banned the importation of Havanas both during the war and for years after it ended. Naturally this had nothing to do with people’s health, but rather was an effort to eliminate any drains on the national balance of payments which weren’t essential to the war effort (and thereafter to help repay the war debt; Lend Lease had essentially required the total depletion of the UK’s gold reserves). The restrictions were not totally removed until the 70’s or 80’s I believe. This was related by the late, great Simon Chase. He was hired by Hunters after restrictions were lifted to help with marketing, which they hadn’t needed for decades. I have to think Churchill spent a few minutes doing napkin math to make sure his stash would last him through the war before signing that order. 6

Similar to Kennedy making sure he was stocked before cutting off supply to everyone else. In Feb '62 he directed his press secretary Pierre Salinger to secure as many Cubans as possible and he delivered him 1200+ of his favorite - Petit Upmann. Immediately after securing the cigars, he signed the order. Such a d**k move! 2

Fuzz AI Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 First Havanathon, Friday night was 9 cigars, then another 16 on the Saturday. Following Havanthons, I cut back to 5-10 per day. Day to day? Zero. Yep, I don't smoke at home alone. With friends? Maybe 2 or 3, sometimes 4, in a session. 4
BG318 Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 I will forever associate the name Havanaaddict and Winston Churchill. He will smoke on the beaches and on the landing grounds , he shall smoke in the fields... 3
Popular Post Lucas Buck Posted September 30, 2025 Popular Post Posted September 30, 2025 I would smoke all my waking hours if I could. As it is I smoke 1-2 per night. Weekends I often get in 2-4 per day. I also have never fried my palate smoking Cuban cigars all day. 6
Popular Post Ford2112 Posted September 30, 2025 Popular Post Posted September 30, 2025 I am at least 1 a day. Sometimes 3. 6
