We were out of town visiting friends this weekend and naturally I brought the travel humidor. Part of the day was attending their town parade and fair afterwards. I knew that I could smoke at the fair but as we got ready to head out, I realized that I didn’t have a tubo or anything secure to put a stogie in. I opted to bring an AF Hemingway Work of Art as it was the smallest and cheapest stick that I bought.

The only solution I could find was to tuck it under my ball cap. I knew that after a couple of beers I would forget it and it would come tumbling down from my head when I took the hat off. After a couple of close calls, the prophecy came true. I tried smoking it later and it was totally useless. Wouldn’t stay lit, etc.

My question to you fine folks is...do you have any clever solutions for a situation like that? My wife doesn’t usually carry a purse so that wasn’t an option.

I always travel with empty tubos in various sizes and a three finger pocket case. In a pinch, a plastic baggie in a shirt pocket will do.

Pocketed shirts come in very handy.

Cellophane wrap the cigar. Will stay humid for some time. I like to put a small piece of paper at the seam to make it easier to unwrap.

Yup, Saran wrap and rolling up in a piece of cardboard (cut-open empty loo-roll will do 😉) secured with duct tape will provide tremendous stability. Such makeshift tubo will do just fine for most smaller to medium formats.

Minor issue - carrying in a trouser pocket might look a bit awkward 😬. So, I concur with @Chibearsv’s advice.😅

Thanks for all the responses. I was unfortunately wearing an unpocketed shirt that day. Saran Wrap is interesting...something like a cast to make it a little stronger.

You don't need to reinforce it for simply caring in your pocket. The cigar will be fine. The cellophane wrap can be thrown away as well.

I doubt that, the jeans I was wearing were pretty stiff.
