joeypots Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 Being a close- to-Boston guy it's good to be a fair weather fan. First I loved hockey, then basketball, then football and then baseball. I don't have a favorite but when a team is getting close to or in the playoffs, I'm in. JMHO, regular season baseball can be less than engaging. Mid September it can be come a thing of beauty. Unless, of course, the Yankees are winning. 3
Lucas Buck Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 NFL easily. Can’t get enough. Win Lose or Tie - Buffalo BILLS fan ‘til I die. 2
Ruggerpgh99 Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 While Hockey is Canadian, not American, it is my favorite sport to watch, especially live, nothing competes with the live experience of NHL playoffs in person. The speed, strength, finesse and skill are hard to comprehend. My true love is rugby (UNION 15's), and while that is growing here in the US, we don't get to see enough of it. 4

Agree with your comment on playoff hockey...I am going to Game 5 live, it should be awesome. 3

Agree, agree. NHL playoff hockey is my favorite live spectator sporting event. My wife loves going to an NFL game, but I'd rather watch that on TV. The opposite of that is true for hockey, I can't stand hockey on TV. 5

Perfect example happened just this past year or two. The NBA used to own Xmas day on TV and had some great success doing so. They'd have some marquee matchups that often introduce the nation to the NBA that season. The NFL clearly took note of that, and decided to put a game on that day. Ratings were great. Now they have 2/3 games on Xmas day...we can't get enough. Sports radio talks about it all year round sans March/April when the NCAA tourney and The Masters is going on. I for one am one of the masses...can't get enough. 7 hours ago, Goldeneye said: I am going to Game 5 live it should be awesome. Should be awesome! As an American, I'm certainly pulling for the Oilers. The cup doesn't belong in a swamp down south. 3
Ford2112 Posted June 12, 2025 Posted June 12, 2025 Baseball. I have religiously followed my Giants for many years. I find when you have a team you are 100% and passionate about it makes all the difference. Football just doesn't grab me like it used to although I follow it pretty well, NBA also. But I will watch any sport, Sumo Wrestling, Badminton, Corn Hole. 2
Hoops Posted June 13, 2025 Posted June 13, 2025 I'm a bit of an oddball: College basketball (only mildly interested in NBA) and NFL. Also enjoy track and field.
