Ramon Allones Ridiculares

So I've seen a lot of stupid gigantic cigars in historic images, mainly from either Holland or Tampa etc. But these are genuine Cuban rolled single coffined Ramon Allones cigars being inspected circa 1930 at The London Port Authority. It's likely these were used as advertising gimmicks for shops like JJ Fox. Very cool!

put it this way, If that thing slipped its lashings and fell on my head whist selecting a cigar in Pall Mall circa 1930's,  I'd be angling for at least a 25 box of Cabanas Invincibles on the house

Great to see this. These look to be from exactly the same production. Interestingly on both the cigar bands are a bastardised versions of the outer box labels.

I couldn't pass it up, but after about five minutes of looking at it on the table there was a touch of buyers' remorse. Someone who could bring it, and the casket, back to full glory should end up with it.
