Havana Phil's strikes a match with new Danville location, offering wide range of cigars

Havana Phil's Cigar Company has opened its second location on 742 Main Street in Danville, inside the former Southern Virginia Settlements building. The new spot offers a wide range of cigars, priced between $6 and $50 each.

They specialize in hand-rolled cigars from Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

Manager Edward Taylor said the decision to expand to Danville was influenced by the presence of Caesars Virginia.

"It's going to be a place for people to come sit back, decompress after a long week, and just enjoy themselves for a time," said Taylor. "I tell people all the time we don't sell cigars; we sell mini vacations."

Taylor also shared plans to incorporate alcohol and food sales, along with a lounge featuring comfortable chairs and a TV. For now, visitors can expect a cool ambiance to relax and unwind.

Havana Phil's is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, call 434-228-7546 or visit their website.

A few years ago I had the best ever pizza from a place in Danville. I was out at VIR for a 24hr race and after Friday practice / qualifying, we were prepping the car for the race. Took some advice for the best place to get pizza, popped out to get pizza and beer and we ate it whilst getting the car ready.

its a wonderful part of the world and I can’t wait to go back and race there again.

"They specialize in hand-rolled cigars from Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua."

Thinking that may be "fake news" LOL

I saw that too and figured it was that or more likely poorly researched journalism. (I.e. Someone who has no idea about Cuban cigars and the embargo situation.)

Built a Wally World store in Danville. Parts of it are real nice. Laid back community.

And, some parts aren't. Lol.
