I will be seeing the Mets face us on Saturday @JohnS. Steph Curry bobblehead night lol Buddy from Boston just texted me about Royals Red Sox game tonight. He said Boston 26-15 since they got rid of Devers.

Devers has heated up a bit. So far it looks like Boston came out ahead in that trade. Ha! Probably revenge for the Panda deal.
Goldeneye Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Glad the Blue Jays swept the Rockies, but that was painful to watch or enjoy. Feel sorry for Rockies fans. Looking very forward to the Jays/Dodgers series.
gormag38 Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Man my Tigers just can't seem to get right. Didn't do nearly enough to at the deadline to help our bullpen and probably could've used a bat and another starter if I'm being honest. Prospects and a great farm system is nice and all, but if you've got a chance to make some moves and become serious contenders for the world series then you've GOT to make some of the moves! Needless to say, the city is struggling to stay supportive of Scott Harris and the younger Ilitch. If they don't get Skubal to agree to a new contract and he ends up leaving next year (or year after) then heads will/should roll.

It's definitely worked out for everyone so far. Pretty exciting for Sox fans to overtake the Yanks and being only 4 games behind the Jays given our rough start. Devers has been productive as hell in SF.
Ford2112 Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Giants are 5 games back of the third wildcard spot. Jerar Encarnacion is out with a hammy injury after hitting 2 bombs in 2 games. I feel a bit unconfident in this last stretch.
JohnS Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Sometimes, Baseball makes no sense. The Mets just recently went 8 games in a row winning, after the deadline, they've won 1 game in the last 9. It's all about momentum I guess, and it goes both ways. 1

JohnS Posted August 22 Posted August 22 Baseball is great to watch when your team is winning, or even competitive, but when your team is terrible, you do pine for the start of the NFL season. I get it! 😂 1

Ford2112 Posted August 22 Posted August 22 I watch the Giants lately and they make me want to light myself on fire. 1

BigGuns Posted August 24 Posted August 24 Can’t remember the last time I’ve been this locked into a regular season game. @Fezztone
Ford2112 Posted August 24 Posted August 24 And then what do they do? They go on to win 2 in a row off the hottest team in baseball. Ughhhh hahaha 1
JohnS Posted August 28 Posted August 28 For those of us who love baseball, I'm posting this to highlight the Major League debut of the Minors leader in strikeouts, Jonah Tong. He hails from Canada, and has been nicknamed 'the Canadian Cannon', but he has earned his call-up due to his exceptional and consistent performances in the minors in 2025. Even though I'm a Mets fan, my interest in this stems from Tong's uncanny resemblance in his pitching mechanics with Tim Lincecum, a.k.a. the Freak. That full-body overarm motion generates speed and late movement which is tough to face, but what propelled this 22 year-old potential phenom this year was the development of his change-up and the break he gets in the strike-zone. He also has a curveball and he's working on a slider, but his fastball and change-up has been enough to keep hitters off-balance this season. For a more detailed comparison to the unique pitching mechanics of Tim Lincecum, check out this video below... Tong will debut this Friday night at Citi Field, 7.10 pm ET against the Marlins. I hope he does well enough to stay in the Mets' pitching rotation for the rest of 2025, as Nolan McLean has done recently.

Looking forward to seeing how he performs on Friday and I like the "Canadian Cannon" nickname. 1
Goldeneye Posted September 5 Posted September 5 A huge weekend series for the Jays against the Yankees, hoping the Jays win at least 2 of 3. With our bullpen i think we will need to score>8 runs a game!
