Here we go!

After being used/shunned by Ohtani and Soto. The Jays finally turned inward and signed a guy who wants to be here. IMO they should have done this years ago. Maybe would saved them $100-$200M. Time wil

Long suffering Reds fan here. Old enough to remember watching the Big Red Machine from the 70's.

Hang in there @Ford2112. At the last FOH meeting on Discord, I was discussing the LA Dodgers recent turn in form with @BigGuns. It's all symptomatic of how hard it is to maintain consistent form and have players manage niggling injuries along the way in a baseball season. Sometimes, yes, confidence plays its part too.

The Mets at one point this season were 21 games over .500, I think. Then, injuries to key starting pitchers struck and the momentum changed. That's baseball.

Haven’t bothered making it to many Rangers games, but good seats for the ones I’ve attended.

I think they’re about to trade deGrom away, from what I’ve read. 😔

The other part of that convo was how insanely dominant the Dodgers are that they could drop 8 of their last 10 and still be 4.5 games up in the West (at the time...now its dropping 6 of their last 10 and being up 5 games, but I digress)...step your games up, NL West!!

Dodgers are monsters. They should be.

@BigGuns

I was tied up earlier and following on my phone…was finally able to tune in on the tube - LOVE that the Dodgers are wearing their Brooklyn hats!  Hilarious

So far so good…

At the moment, MLB teams are bucking the usual trend in regard to winning and losing streaks. By that I mean, usually teams will win and lose based around the form of their starting pitchers, but of late, teams are winning and losing multiple games (i.e. 4 or 5 in a row or more). For example, what about the Detroit Tigers, Milwaukee Brewers, Toronto Blue Jays and San Diego Padres for starters?

@JohnS well this comment aged well...

Have fun watching Tyler Rogers . Meanwhile Jose Butto is in the dugout crying because he has to come play with us. The Giants offense is anemic. We are now an under .500 team with an expensive Rafael Devers hitting .220.

I expect Buster to make a couple more moves here. The Giants are not quite in dumpster fire mode yet.

You got Miller from the A's for starters.

Padres got Miller. We got some pitching. Yaz is gone which while I like the guy he isn't elite, and we need hitting. Doval was a headcase and Rodriguez has the stuff so I'm good with it. Now watch SF go on a 10 game winning streak.

My error. All the Trade Deadline fun was happening at 6 am, first thing in my part of the world.

Mets did good it seems.

We got Yaz from SF. KC has same record as the Giants but we were not sellers yesterday. Our OF production has been horrendous so he is a upgrade

Yaz is a good player. He will be excellent defensively . When healthy he can hit for power and average at above .250. Plus he is a good guy,and he grows a good moustache.

Glad to see the Blue Jays were active at the trade deadline. If Bieber gets healthy could be real nice addition.

Every team that thinks that it has a chance of contending this postseason made a play for the in-form relievers this year. Which makes sense, as firstly the starting pitchers market is so expensive and secondly, relief pitching plays a much bigger part in winning postseason games than it does during the normal season.

His first at bat with the Royals is a 2 run dinger over the fence!

The Red Sox needed to add an ace to accompany Crochet...and for 2 mins or so we did...as FOX News incorrectly posted that we'd signed Joe Ryan from the Twins 🤦‍♂️

You could hear the blue-balled groans ring out as the post got pulled and fans everywhere became aware of the mistaken news

What's worse is that the deal should really have been done. I don't know what the Twins were asking but we have a log-jam in the outfield and surely had enough other pieces to get it over the line. Feels like an epic trade deadline fail. Our pen has already been a strength, the starting rotation (aside from Crochet), while being much better of late, is the real chink in the armour.

If we make the play-offs, feels like we'll be particularly light-on there.

Did anyone catch the Braves/Reds game the other night? The score was tied 3 - 3 heading into the 8th inning. My Braves scored 8 runs in the top half…The Reds then followed up with 8 runs in the bottom half. Braves eventually win in extra innings. A very strange game.
