Thank you but we are fine. Plenty of food, wine, rum, cigars. Mum and Dad's fridge is stocked, torches ready.

It still hasn't hit. 

Slowed down overnight and is now moving at 1 knott  1.5 mph. You could walk faster

Cyclone Alfred has been downgraded, so its damage from the ferocity of its wind will be lessened. It will also move slowly north of Brisbane, where most people live in South-East Queensland. That's the good news. However, currently there are up to 250,000 people without power and heavy rain is forecast from this afternoon for a few days.

1.5mph? I didn’t realize the US Postal Service employed cyclones. 🙂 I kid, I kid, all respect to our tireless postal employees.  Hope you & family are staying dry.
