President Stubb, is anti-Brexit, pro-Immigration, pro-globalisation, pro-European expansion. He would fit very well in the Labour party. All that said, if someone is being transactional, having to be the person always getting bullied shouldn’t be your default setting. Europe needs to be strong enough not to be choosing between superpowers, rather proactively acting in their own interest, being on the front foot. 

As a proud Brit and European, I hope the attacks on our stability from Russia etc will only succeed in re-growing/strengthening Europe. I hope to see additions of  Greenland (fully), UK (re-joining), Iceland (fully), Ukraine, Norway, the Baltics etc. etc. in the next 10-15 years.

The way Alexander Stubb expresses himself here in English is exemplary. It was no surprise to me to research his life and find out he is a polymath. Before he studied Political Science, he considered joining the US PGA Golf tour! And he speaks five other languages apart from his native Finnish!
