Popular Post JohnS Posted January 7 Popular Post Posted January 7 There's no doubt that the greater majority of you have supplemented your cigar rotation with Non-Cuban options since Habanos S.A. re-modelled their business strategy in mid-2022. Again, the guys at Halfwheel have provided a useful article on price increases amongst Non-Cuban cigar manufacturers, although this particular one mentions Oliva specifically. 4 2
VeguerosMAN Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Oliva prices have been too good to be true among online retails. 4
Ford2112 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 When you can get a Melanio for 10 bucks its a bargain. 5% isn't that much. 1
Popular Post SCgarman Posted January 8 Popular Post Posted January 8 For many here who have made the move back to buying NC's, I can confidently predict you will not see a similar Cigarmageddon like Habanos pegging their prices to the Hong Kong market. Even the most "high end" NC's with a modest price increase will never be anywhere near the stratosphere prices that the Cuban trainwreck has been on the past couple of years. There are so many great boxes of NC's well under the $400/box mark, there is practically something for everyone. Except for the "Cuban only or die" crowd. 6

You can get it for around 6 bucks for regular V or 8 bucks for Melanio. Have you tried their Maduros? I prefer Melanio Maduro over Natural. 2 hours ago, SCgarman said: For many here who have made the move back to buying NC's, I can confidently predict you will not see a similar Cigarmageddon like Habanos pegging their prices to the Hong Kong market. Bagman Posted January 8 Posted January 8 First off, looks like most aren't raising prices. Secondly, there is a huge difference of raising 5% on a $250 NC and 5% on a $750 Cuban box.

Cigar Surgeon Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Most NC companies raise their prices Jan - Mar. You'll see the announcements quietly trickle out. The Oliva thing is just an odd one because they focus a lot on discounts, so a price increase just comes across as odd when they're going to discount 60% anyway. 1 1

Ashton Warped Illusione Tatuaje Padron My Father Oliva Of that that list, so far one has increased prices as I said, even if they do, 5% on 250 boxes vs 750 is a huge difference!

Ooooh....I will guarantee you, a 5% increase minimum will happen on all before end Feb 28. Oliva already announced. However, that is not a bad thing. I know the cost pressures they have experienced in their manufacturing world. 5% for them is reasonable. There is nothing reasonable about Habanos. 1
Samysam Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Yeah, but most online retailors offer a 20 to 30% discount on NC during most holidays. That's the time to stock up. NC cigar prices have lagged all tobacco products from cigarettes to delusional China/Cuba.
VeguerosMAN Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I don't know how Oliva is making profits when they offer 40%+ discounts on box purchases online. 1

Apparently their wrapper leaf is top shelf, and they sell it to other cigar makers. They make $$ in more ways than one. 1

Cigar Surgeon Posted January 10 Posted January 10 This is as good a thread as any for price increase news. As mentioned before most NC companies raise prices in Q1 like clockwork.
