Came through overnight

"Oi Rob, was watching some YouTube this morning, and there was this video banging on about the 'greatest cigar ever made'. Usual YouTube nonsense, really, but it got me thinking—out of all the Habanos you've smoked over the decades, what’s been the absolute best in your opinion? Like, the proper number one that stands out from everything else you’ve tasted?"

From the hip.....and I have had many without the "taint" in this old video.

The cigars have aged magnificently. I have aged even better :rotfl:

I was wondering if you had any of those left.

J J Fox Exclusive Selections

Punch Nectares No.2

The flavor has been burned into my memory forever.

Other cigars would be:

Cubatabaco 1492

Habanos 1994

80’s Dunhill Cabinetta

70’s Don Cándido Selección No.502

80’ Davidoff Château Haut-Brion

This reads like a Bucket list. I've had the Punch Nectares No 2, Haut-Brion and the Habanos 1994. My all time favourite is still the 1970 Davidoff No 1.

I have had some outstanding Davidoff No.1s but the Haut-Brion just has a unique flavor compared to the rest of the Davidoff line!

Greatest ever means consistency, continuation, and the ability to reach the masses. (Which of course is against what Habanos wants these days but...)

I'll say the granddaddy of Cubans...the Cohiba Esplendidos.

I've smoked a couple of those, but was in early 1990's and I didn't know one cigar from another really.

Would the Talisman be a contender for this list?

Never tried but very curious.

I've heard some of them have pretty thick wraps that can be troublesome to keep lit. I've also heard some people remark at how the darker wrapped boxes weren't nearly as good as the lighter wrapped boxes. (Again this is all from second hand sources). This was all some years back (maybe BC even). So I have no idea how they've aged etc.

I have smoked a bunch of Talismans across varied boxes. Not even close to being in consideration, I can’t imagine many would disagree but just my opinion.

I have only smoked two. I used the 1966 as the comparison point. And IMO it fell short. The 1966 was miles ahead of it.

In my opinion 1966s are a much better cigar and even those I would not consider as a contender for “greatest Habanos ever made.” We talking holy grail stuff.
