Fishey Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Tried this one for the first time now, a Robusto with an unknown age. Pre-light draw: earthy and peppery, a bit different from my normal Cubans. Seems interesting. First third: It starts with Intense flavour straight away, bursting away with Coffee and earth! Some undertones of chocolate and cream are there too, really great start! Second third: Pretty same flavours although the cream has increased a bit and the peppery notes have toned down. I like the trajectory from here. Last third: The flavors are even deeper coffee and some sweetness is there also. Full bodied cigar all the way! Full throttled Cubans can be great! I usually love the mildness of Cubans compared to NCs, but even the more intense Cubans outshine the NCs by a long shot. Just so sad that the price difference turns them into special occasion cigars rather than the common smoke. Anyways, loved this one! 8.5/10
